Jon Gray

Has anyone tried him online? A lot of content creators are saying he looks really bad. There doesn’t seem to be anything special about him and the 4 basic pitches don’t help.. but from grinding vs CPU, he is very easy to locate with, good control, can touch 100 regularly and has one of the highest H/9 for a starter.
Just curious if anyones taken him into Ranked yet and how they did with him?

Rockies squad doesn’t have much SP so you might have to use him out of necessity
I wouldn’t try him in Ranked but I could see how you could have some success if you keep his starts short
Or maybe try him out of the pen? I like to use that strategy when I really want to try out a new pitcher but don’t want to give opponent an extended look (such as Fernando Valenzuela)

I faced him 2 times last night in events and he seemed good. He was tough for me to pick up at first but I got to him after a few innings of facing him. I think he will be pretty good on the higher difficulties.
Those content creators hate on cards that don't have an outlier sinker at 99mph. I wouldn't trust their word.

Really depends on arm angle; an over the top angle will always be easier to pick up than the standard 3/4 guy. What's his release like?

He might have a tougher arm slot this year idk, but anyone who has been playing this game for years has seen a lot of Jon Gray in Rockies CPU grinding lol

He’s pretty basic with no outlier and the standard 4 pitch mix. Also nothing really deceptive in his delivery. I’m using him in the event with some success, but I don’t think he’s great.
