People can't win here. The only victory is to not post. People say they are NMS and someone says, go outside with your kids dead beat Dad. Spent money and someone say, easy to do with Mommy's credit card. The only 3 ways to do something is to grind, spend or a combination of both.
The NMS people crack me up especially. In all honesty, if cards do not make you a good player than who cares how someone gets somewhere in the game? Posts like his are somewhat humble brags, but it is ok to be excited about something no matter how you got there.

I'm a realistic person, bragging about completing something where you can literally just buy it, isn't an accomplishment. anyone who's actually accomplished something you don't pay for would hopefully understand this.
It may not be your cup of tea, but handing hero cookies for spending money isn't my bag. Sorry for differing from your opinion.

My first thought when people mention spending money on stubs is always the same. I have doubts that they fully comprehend the opportunity cost of compound interest. If they do, good for them and spend away. If not, I feel bad that they aren’t making fully informed financial decisions.

Honestly, I haven't kept track but probably about $600. But I also had some great early pulls. For some reason during early access, I was pulling the rare LS cards like crazy.....a few DeGroms, Acunas, 2 Trouts, a few Tatis', and like 6 Scherzers...I found that spending early on the game you can really build a stub stack. And I wasn't actually bragging or flexing. I was sharing my genuine happiness , as someone who has been a collector for years. I am in my 50's and I grew up without much $$$ so when my Dad would get me a pack of cards (back then it was pretty much Topps - then some Fleer and later on Donruss), I'd be soooo happy. Some of my best memories are sitting in the car opening a pack, pulling any Met (Mets fan, grew up in Brooklyn, NY), and sharing that awful stick of gum with my Dad... And for me to actually complete a team collection and then ultimately somehow the entire series, was huge for me. Doing it digitally now that I am providing a better situation financially for my kids, gives me a thrill. It's really not a flex. Just my joy. Don't mean to offend anyone either way. I wish you alll the ability to get every card you want, truly I do. Cheers to all who were kind with their responses and to those who weren't, it's cool. No hard feelings. Enjoy The Show and I hope you get whatever cards you want.

Side note you can still spend money for Harvard and not walk away with a degree. Most people do have to pass the courses. But you probably already know all this, you with the brain busting comment you made.

Great thing about really good colleges is that you can do really well and be successful afterwards...pay off your student loans....and then have disposable income to spend on hobbies and passions....such as MLB The Show. Amazing how that works, isn't it? SO yeah, I went from growing up in the low income housing projects in Brooklyn to a good college to having expendable income to be able top spend a bit on things like The Show and other hobbies , nice things for my kids, etc. So again I ask - what does anyone have to say about what I do with my money?....I worked hard to get where I am, I have the right to do whatever I want with it,. If people are jealous and salty about it, that says more about them than it does about me. Like I really care what people think LMAO.
