Once you get to higher difficulties, velo is the most important thing.
would you say a pitcher who has a wide range of velo changes in his pitch repetoire would work on HOF? Like the reason I love Gore and even Manning is that there is a drastic change between their fastball and offspeed. both top out in high 90's I think Gore is 98, but his change and curve both come in at 81 and 78. I know in All Star divisions I am having great success with him in the limited times I have used him.
Yeah, pitch speeds are huge. You want a guy who throws at least 97-99, who also has slow off-speed stuff you can sprinkle in now and again. But I realized most people can’t hit the fastball in higher difficulties. So I usually throw it all around the strike zone, and when he seems like he’s starting to time it a little I’ll throw a slider or changeup.
Couldn’t say it better . I pitch the same way

I usually go for guys like Oswalt. Pretty good fastball with a slow curve. I try to find guys with that same pitch selection when I can too, 4 seam, curve, sinker, slider, and change. I get killed on cutters, so I just dont throw them much.

Do you have Sixto? I know he's not end game but he has a nice selection, no curve..but throwing an 81mph circle change after a 100 mph fastball makes up for it lol

Right now I'm running Oswalt, Pearson, Reyes, Smoltz, and AJ Burnett.
I just blew most of my stubs on Pearson, so I'm going to wait a bit on a fifth starter.

Yea man you just need 3 starters as of now . Get guys with high stamina. Kluber is better than Newhouse , but I chose Newhouse bc he can pitch pretty much every 2 games. I go Vida , newhouser , oswalt . That’s all u need . Use those stubs to improve your pen or hitting

You just need 3 starters as of now . Go spend those extra Stubbs on hitting or pen

I know you only need 3 starters. It's a known issue with this game. I'm stubborn though. I roll 5 starter in order and only use a starter in relief when I absolutely have to.

Fair enough . I’d just advise to go spend the money on improving your hitting or pen . Totally up to you though . Obviously lol

I am the same way, kind of a purist in that sense, even if it isn't exactly the meta right now lol
