How to directional hit with pci??

What equates hitting in this game. I know we have a pci and can press square ,X,O for what kind of swing you want but still what allows me to control my hits? If I’m batting righty and I want to go to right field how will I do it, can’t move the pci to a certain location or I can’t swing late bc it’ll be foul or a pop up. So how do I do it? Same thing if I want to go to left field? Do I have to turn pci off and go to directional hitting??

Just depends on timing of the swing if you hit an outside ball just late it'll probally more likely to go right field on the right side of the pci if you pull it'll go left

Also pci placement
