40-man Roster bugged?

When you start a franchise in spring training, they already have a set 40 guys on the 40 man roster that you cannot change unless you send guys down and use options. Is this a glitch? Because before in franchise mode there used to be a tab at the bottom for 40 man roster and there isn’t anymore??

I get all that I guess I’m just confused why I can’t set my 40 man to start the year. The game sets it for me then I have to burn options to send guys down to the minors before the regular season starts..

I can't recall having to burn an option, unless the player is already Rule 5 eligible. Whatever the case, I just deal with it, because if it's actually bugged, SDS isn't gonna fix it.

I just started my franchise the other day so it's already underway. In general my first franchise move on day one, is to get rid of all those old guys who suck (anyone older than 26 with a low OVR), and I only trade for guys who are not on a 40 man and less than 24 years old. So if anyone had to burn an option, they are usually gone anyway. They are someone else's problem. I suppose that's why I've never been bothered by what people see as a bug.
I dunno. I don't worry about it.

So if anyone had to burn an option, they are usually gone anyway. They are someone else's problem. I suppose that's why I've never been bothered by what people see as a bug.

Yeah, I just play the game as it is, because if I do a bunch of testing and figure, "yeah, it's bugged", what difference does it make? It's not like I'm going to stop playing the game. So to me, it doesn't matter.
My task day one is to rebuild the farm system. I may keep a few career Minor Leaguers around just to help get into the playoffs, but for the most part, guys with burned options get axed. A strong farm will always lead to a competitive MLB team.
