I don't think I've ever been this disappointed in the game or SDS

After seeing how the game played when 120hz first dropped and we could only play offline my excitement was through the roof. I was playing mini seasons on HOF and was able to actually track the ball and swing when I needed to.. I was actually early on most of my swings which was rare too. Hell, Seager pulled an outside fastball from Randy Johnson in my first game for a no doubter.
Now... I hate playing. Even with 120hz enabled in offline its as if i am playing on my 10 year old Samsung. ( I'm on an LG C1 with all the proper settings) I have to basically start my swing before the ball is still in the pitchers hand. Why? Why does 120hz play like absolute garbage.. even for just offline? I get it, it wouldn't be near that responsive or smooth in online play but I would expect some sort of improvement right ? Nope... I have to switch back to 60hz because the game plays better that way.
What I THINK is that they were feeling so much pressure to fix the whole matchmaking issue with VRR and 120hz enabled that when they released the patch it wasn't right. What I KNOW is that SDS will never address anything we are asking and will continue to play ostrich and bury their collective heads in the sand and wont communicate anything to the community.
Agree or not with my take on 120hz not being right... At least for PS5 users because I remember reading someone recently he played on both and XBOX was far and beyond better play, but can we all agree we need a little more transparency about the state of this game? There seems to be so many issues and from what I am seeing here we're getting pretty tired of the blanket statements.

I only play offline and I'm just glad I'm playing on a PS4 Pro. Runs great, no crashes, server errors, etc. All I'm missing is the stadium creator, which I don't care about. Plus I still get to use Sounds of the Show.

If you would've gotten VRR and 120hz for offline when it first released it was like playing a whole new game. It literally made me excited to play offline and to try it online once the patch dropped for that... And then just complete disappointment and somehow worse.

Can't miss what you never had. To me, it's just a $60 game. As long as it looks and plays well, I'm good.

Your not the only one who has noticed.I just played a ranked game on 120hz with ps5 and same tv. I was consistently late in Dallas Kuechel sinker . Yes Dallas Kuechel. Both teams had a combined 1 hit through 7. It was a horrible experience. Also had to guess to try to catch up. First week of the year played great I was doing great. Game simply is awful right now in online play. My opponent was xbox user. I might turn off cross play to see if that’s the issue.

Maybe its something with that TV if multiple people with it are seeing the same thing? I'm using a monitor and since the 120hz update both offline and online are silky smooth and look fantastic.
God I hope not.. It's supposed to be one of the better gaming TV's out there and one of the reasons I bought it.

I'm sure cross play doesn't help, but it is playing the same weather XBOB or PS for me.

I switched to a series X for this year and play on a 77” LG CX at 120hz and VRR. It’s awesome, gameplay issues aside.

I agree. I was super excited after playing offline when 120hz first dropped. It felt like it did when I went from a tv to a monitor only a larger difference. I was way early on everything and my PCI placement seemed to match what I felt like I was doing. It was amazing, what I always hoped this game would play like. After the update, it has gone backwards, almost to what it was before 120hz. I do feel like it's slightly improved both online and offline as far as the way pitch speeds feel, tracking the ball, and the warping pitches and so on go.

I 100% agree with everything you just said. And tHat is a great way to put it ! It was like going from an old TV to a monitor for the first time. and 120hz definitely makes the game look smoother to me, but the input just isn't right. Just not sure how / what they did that would've regressed it so much

I doubt it’s the tv a lot of people are using same tv as a monitor. Tons of videos on it.

It’s definitely not the tv. I have the lg cx and it’s fantastic. Plays better than the monitor I have which wasn’t cheap

Sounds of the Show still works for you? The game erased all of my music off of it and won’t let me re-upload them. Did that happen to you and they fixed it?

Just thought I would drop this here for the LG CX crowd since there seems to be a few in here.

I haven't had any issue with my music getting erased. How long did you have the game before that happened? I can't see why using sounds of the show would be a problem because they have an interface designed specifically for you to use it.

Maybe I’ll try again. It worked fine to start the year but one day it erased all of my music. Then when I tried to re-upload the music, it said my files were corrupt even though it’s the same USB I used before that was untouched.

I have had an issue with the game not loading random files because it said they were corrupt, but it's only been a few of them. I know for a fact they are not corrupt though.
