Directional Hitting

Is it even necessary to aim with the left joy stick or can you just press X to hit. I’ve seen no difference.

No need to aim. Though it does help if you're trying to beat the shift.

Directional hitting is the cheese this year for sure. I can always tell when the person I’m playing is using it. They’ll miss something that’s barely out of the zone, soon as I throw a meatball it gets destroyed.
They really need to set this game back to how it played in the beta. I’ve been doing missions, showdown and the big conquest map that’s it. -
I'll swear by zone, but is directional the way to go for showdown? Anyone tried both ways?
