What to do!?
-
Between finishing up programs and showdowns and moments and maps and some minor flipping I now how enough stubs to buy Trout. Last year I did it this way and seem to finish the LS collection fast. In this time I have pulled Ketel Marte, Chris Sale and just today Max Scherzer. But also last year I wasnt impressed with the LS collections rewards, especially most team rewards, and I am even less impressed this year.
I am really thinking of just waiting and skipping the collection for now and doing it later in the year when cheaper. My biggest problem is though what to do? I dont really want to buy all the cover guys, including a Mauer, to get a Mauer that seems pretty good, but most of the other cover cards are kinda meh.
If not completing the LS collection right now what really is there to complete?

I don't know where you are at with the Prospect collection, but that Adley is turning out to be better than Gary Carter for me.

Start building for the inevitable big collection?

Yeah I sold them all because they still had some value. Part of the reason I have enough stubs for Trout. Figured I could easily just earn them back. I do want the Adley.

I usually dont sweat those too much. Usually just have most naturally. Plus still so far off.

That makes sense and Adley isn't going to go away!

Just curious, which rewards are you not that interested in? The team rewards, division or the big 3? Personally I like the big 3 more than last year, but I get that some people are blah about them. Clemente is a fun player to use and Frank Thomas was a beast for me last year. But that Randy card looks amazing.
If not that, I'd say keep a large amount in case cards come out you must have or you need them for a collection and otherwise, go through the legends and pick up the ones you really want.
Maybe grab more of the FotF cards?

Buy the BR bronze silver and golds if you dont have them.i waited to see if theyd get cheaper and they went up. 38k for the 12 of them and they will only get more expensive.

Ah, good idea!

I'm debating if I want to sell my Prospect cards. They're down to 2-3K; so I don't even know if they're worth it.

I know you said that you're not interested in building for the big collection; but what about investing for the big collection?
These early Event rewards, BR reward (Doby), and a few of the Headliners are still at a decent price to buy a handful of each to hold until the big collection is announced.
You may be able to quadruple your investment.

I dont really worry about that stuff early on. Usually plenty of stubs to be made. Just seems like a headache. Sure there are a few exceptions, but mostly I just grind away and do a little flipping in the market.
Actually looks like I am just gonna go ahead and Buy Trout anyways. Fighting for him right now. Might as well. I was just over thinking it. I dont want to end up like last year and hes in the 400K range all May. I got him for around 320K right before that, hoping for the same now.
Edit: just scored the big fish for 314,122

Not a bad move. His LS card will play in pretty much every lineup throughout the Spring and Summer. You can be ahead of most with him at P5 early on as well.
Good price!

I thought it was pretty good. Especially if what happens last year happens again this year. But I guess the market can always be different.

Better than me, I got him just under 392K.

I went after Trout early last year and was able to get him before the first stub sale made his cost go up a lot. I was planning on doing the same this year, but I got FOTF Trout out of the no sell pack. The live series is clearly better, but I decided to invest my stubs in other areas to improve my team at the moment. I'm not crazy about most of the Live Series collection rewards, so I don't mind waiting a bit longer.
I thought about completing the cover collection before those cards go up, but I already have been using the 88 Mauer a lot and I just unlocked Adley, so locking in over 300k at this point in the game to get a slightly better Mauer doesn't seem like the right move.
The Dodgers have some usable live series diamonds in Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman, plus you get Kirk Gibson who looks solid, so I went after all the Dodgers yesterday and have about 50k in liquid funds left to flip and get the total back up.
