Sinkers

Hate them. Can’t hit them.
-
But seriously any advice would be greatly appreciated..

Well since you're a DD player I'm guessing you don't practice enough to get better and just try to collect cards to make the game easier for you?. My advice would be to practice, yeah I know..crazy idea.

Thread now added to watch list

They are tough but they actually got nerfed this year and they aren’t as bad. This coming from a guy who has been one of the most outspoken about sinkers the last few years
-
Watch C Brev's videos on YT. It's a lot about approach and anticipation, like a Street Fighter 2 battle from the early 90's.
I suck, by the way.
For me, the PCI is way too sensitive and I'm constantly slamming corners down and away. It's frustrating. I wish there was a setting to set PCI sensitivity...

I see someone has taken a break from his Legend difficulty franchise with pitch speeds adjusted to super ludicrous speed to come on here and bash us common DD folk.

Here's a better idea. How about SDS fix the sinkers out of the hand? Obviously, they can't or they would have done it already. That pitch defies the laws of physics. You can't blame people that can't hit sinkers when there is a broken mechanic involved.

Casual, hot pocket eating, mountain due drinking, noobs.

I found moving my PCI up on them works if that make sense, starting lower in the strike zone and working up.

I agree.. How does a 96 MPH Sinker look like an offspeed pitch out of the hand. That is the biggest complaint I have.

Put the PCI where the sinker will end up in the strike zone and press X, square, or circle at the proper time.

Practicing at a video game...lol this guy. It's a video game bruh, you play to have fun. Not going to be too many wannabe pro gamers like you on the forums

While the guy is a troll he is not wrong that practicing will make you better. Even if you don't want to be a 'pro gamer'. It helps to go into practice mode and turn up the pitch speeds so you're more prepared when you actually see it.

Oh snap guys! We have Captain Obvious over here...

see ball hit ball.

You need to do 2 things:
- Be able to recognize the pitch quick when it comes out of the hand. It can be tough with sinkers, especially when they're thrown high in the zone.
- Watch the drop of the sinker. Not every sinker is the same, some sink a lot more than others. Take a lot of pitches early on (always a good strategy) to get a feel for this.
Once you're able to recognize the pitch with some confidence and measured up the break of the sinker, treat it as a fastball but sit lower with your PCI based on the amount of break. Be careful you don't pull it too low, because a good player will recognize your tendency and will start mixing in 4seamers to get you to pop up. That's why the pitch recognition is important.
This sounds easy but it really isn't. It takes time, practice and most of all repetition. The more pitches you see, the easier it becomes. And even then it can still be challenging. Good luck!

Simulation/Realistic gameplay is what I consider fun, to challenge myself not cake walking my way to make me feel like a god by trying to break the game's physics or collecting cards of dead people to play on my fantasy team. Playing at default pitch speeds at like All-Star would bore the hell out of me, it would be too easy, I might as well go play Super Mega Baseball instead.

Its good to mingle with the commoners from time to time, makes me realize how amazing I am at the game, its like Einstein attending a flat earth conference.

It’s surprising how many people on its own forum play this game even though they’re never having fun.
