Mini season bug not wins/loses

I'm playing the mini season mode and I'm going through a 4 game stretch where the team I'm playing has all the best players in the game. That's fine. I'm playing on allstar.

So the last game went 6 innings and with the new stamina settings I ended up having to use my entire bullpen, no problem as so did my opponent. Next game, same team. My entire bullpen and 3 of my starters are completely out of energy. I figured since the cpu team also use all their pitchers they would be in a tight spot as well. Nope, all of their pitchers are fresh and ready to go despite the long game they just played. How are we supposed to compete with that? Are we supposed to just quit if we don't win in 3?
