3 inning games are good for tuning up for ranked. Especially when the event is hall of fame. Want to have more consistent rng? Introduce a game mode that’s more competitive where you have to have the ball inside the pci for a hit.
Not too long ago the ball had to be inside the PCI. Then all of a sudden the PCI was no longer the barrel or bat.
The PCI became an afterthought.
the pci was never the barrel or the bat, the devs have confirmed this many times.
They will refuse to believe it no matter how many times they were told that it wasn’t the barrel of a bat. You would think common sense would take over when you look at the PCI and it looks nothing like a bat I’ve ever seen used in MLB.
I believe the devs said it. I just don't believe them. I've heard them say lots of things over the years.
As far as the bat and wedge PCI go I personally think it resembles the shape of a bat. I'm sure many others do also.
The "PCI isn't the bat" talk only started when you could change from wedge. Starfighter and Reverb are ridiculous.
How can it resemble a bat when the size changes from one batter to another? So is one batter using a twig and the next using a tree trunk? Also,
I don’t remember any bats looking like that.As a reminder where they said it around the 21:40 mark:

If it’s not a bat why is it only in game when the batter has a bat in his hands? Why do you aim the “not a bat” directly where the ball is going and try to swing the “not a bat” at the ball as it crosses the plate? If it’s “not a bat” how come when I don’t press the swing bat button my “not a bat” doesn’t swing and and when I hit swing bat the “not a bat” does swing? Sure seems a lot like a bat to me. I’m fact, if I were trying to represent a bat in a baseball game, I’d get the player to aim it at the ball and swing it when it comes across.
If they thought the community was this dumb they should have just told us those pitches hanging dead centre all last year on perfect releases weren’t actually pitches, just a representation of what pitches look like. Those errors aren’t errors, the fielders aren’t fielders, just representations, the scores isn’t a score, just what could happen if a bunch of not a outfielders where holding representations of gloves trying to flag down representations of hits from representations of swings from not bats that hit not balls during not at bats.
It’s a dumb excuse from B grade Devs that can’t hide RNG.

I see it as them thinking people have short attention spans, and baseball is boring to a lot of people.
3 innings makes it unconventional, but quick. NHL has 3's and now 1's(which I can't stand), but some like dumbed down. SDS and other companies know this. -

That’s what we want to know too. Why not have a universal PCI that represents the bat and hits are affected by where you hit it and attributes. Size would differ in correspondence with the difficulty your on.

How am I able to move my "bat" around the strike zone when my actual bat is securely on my shoulders waiting for the pitch? If the PCI is a bat it should start above my shoulders like an actual bat. Or if the placement of my PCi in the strike zone is my bat, my bat should be in bunt mode covering the plate at all times.
Now, I'm not saying that's how it should be. Personally, I don't get why people complain so much, I very rarely have a problem with PCI placement not getting results. I'm always far away from the ball online and always hit poorly. It's quite consistent.

Ranked 9 innings
BR 3 innings
Events 6 inning quick countsThis is how it should be at all times
Quick Counts, in my opinion, is the stupidest thing to have as an option in online gaming.
When I pitch to someone; I like to see what their tendencies are at first. Do they swing at the first pitch; even if it's outside? Do the take until there is 2 strikes?
Also, I like to set up pitches. When you go into an AB that is 2-2 or 3-2, it's impossible to find out these things.
If the main argument for Quick Counts is that it helps 6 inning games go faster; than just keep them at 3 innings.
Unless they can implement that with QC on the count you start at us always 1-1; it's more of a hassle/hindrance than it is a benefit.

So now we can have different pitch speeds but not bat size? 90 mph is 90 mph. Why wouldn’t that be universal too? And before you answer, be careful for what you wish for as they very well could make it All-Star pitch speed and not hall of fame or legend if we want consistency. There would be no need for levels. It would play the same in “Rookie” to “Legend”.

This is why I indicated that it only applies to events. I think that mode needs to be further distanced from the other 2. The biggest thing to take away the win streak rewards that way it's just about winning X number of games. Quick counts just adds an extra wrinkle to the mix
This maybe a discussion for another topic but I think events needs to be where the best of months pass live, stop having events were you can just load up top rated rosters when that's what ranked is for.

Serious question. If it’s a bat, explain why they are different sizes for different players? I don’t remember seeing Tony Gwynn’s bat being that big compared to Joey Gallo’s. Wouldn’t they all be the same size?
That’s what we want to know too. Why not have a universal PCI that represents the bat and hits are affected by where you hit it and attributes. Size would differ in correspondence with the difficulty your on.
And why should the size change by that logic? Bats don’t get smaller from A ball to MLB. If it’s a bat, it’s a bat. The same exact size for every single batter that’s not some odd oval shape.
Then have a universal size no matter the difficulty, only thing that changes is pitch speeds. PCI size could be somewhere between AS and HOF.
Why should it be based on difficulty?if it were to represent the bat, shouldnt it be bat sized then?

I’ve always liked the idea of one difficulty in RS. HOF would be a good choice. In other UT games you don’t see 5 different types of gameplay while playing online. Maybe that’s a route this game should go.
If they did that, then they could implement a universal PCI, regardless of player, that represents the bat.

I think you would be disappointed if there was going to be only one difficultly, it would probably be all star as most players don’t go past that difficulty and they aren’t about to alienate the majority of their player base.

Unless they can implement that with QC on the count you start at us always 1-1; it's more of a hassle/hindrance than it is a benefit.
i hear you mate absolutely.....

I Use to not like quick counts but I actually have grown to like it. If I want to get in a game quick I use quick counts. Even online vs I use quick counts.
It's going to be weird to hear this but the variety of counts the CPU gives the batter really makes you strategize quickly.
Quick counts was to speed up the game but I always said if they want to do that, just make a mode called FULL COUNT. Make every count 3-2 and you get one pitch to swing at. Hit, K, or Walk. If you foul it off then it's a normal strike but a mode like that would let you finish the game in half hour and be a good mode for beginners to the game.

What does it matter how long the games are? Everyone always quits as soon as they’re down a couple of runs.

I was down six the other other and didn’t quit, ended up winning 7-6
