Online Rated let’s you choose which difficulty you want to compete in and that gave me this idea.

For DD Ranked Seasons - Choose your desired difficulty then compete in a mini season, let’s say 10 games. To advance to the Playoffs you need 7 wins out of 10 games.

Playoffs - You now match against another opponent who also qualified for the Playoffs. Single elimination - Lose and your out - Win and you advance. 3 wins in the Playoffs advances you to the World Series.

World Series - Self explanatory. Your matched against an opponent who also made it that far.

Rewards - Cards/stubs/nameplates or whatever. The best rewards are acquired by winning the WS at the highest difficulty. Rewards could also be earned by accumulating wins, similar to what they implemented this year. So either earn the rewards quicker by winning the WS at your level or through grinding enough wins. Rewards are earned once at each difficulty level you try until the new Season begins. Have multiple Seasons throughout the year with new rewards each time. Want the better rewards? Move up to a higher difficulty and go for it.

“Players would just play at the lower levels and grind wins”…..that’s currently happening, players are intentionally losing to tank their rating to face inferior opponents. That’s nothing new we don’t already see in the game.

50 wins on All-Star is the top reward.

30 wins on HOF is the top reward.

20 wins on Legend is the top reward

My only issue with this would be the tanking as you already mentioned. Prior to last year I hadn't noticed a lot of WS players trolling around in the AS levels but definitely did last year thanks to SDS giving total win rewards for WS cards.

Hope there's a better solution for that this year.

The system last year was fine. Make WS to get the reward, period. The cumulative win results in the tanking which is bad all around.

So unless they figured out how to penalize those that do, go back to the old way.

They could rework it a bit and make the wins pack unsellable, make rewards after making World Series and top 50 better. That way casual players can still get the card (unsellable), but better players have something to play for and not tanking.

I think the cumulative win WS reward needs to be non-sellable. Not sure if that would help with tanking but it would at least keep value of those cards high for WS players

I like how it was this year. 40 wins is still alot of time invested surely those players deserve to make some stubs too. The best players unlock the ws players faster than everyone else and they get to sell the cards for a way higher price than the 40 win players, then they get to eaen the card back with 40 wins.
