When you get a new card, for a specific position, do you automatically replace the card that you were using for that spot or do you keep playing with a card until you get it to a certain parallel?

Since I got Mo I have yet to pitch a single at bat with him because I've been trying to parallel Sig Smoltz (300pts from P3).

So I'm just wondering what other players do when they get a new card.

I like to test drive most of the new cards I get (not all, but a collection reward or big purchase for sure]. Today my lineup is all 2021 Finest to see how they play.

But I get trying to P5 guys. I just never got into that, but it's probably what I'll focus on after TA5.

Well, once I got Mo I realized that Smoltz, who I had in a my right handed closer, was close to P2; so I just ran with it.

He would probably be further along if I still used him in blowout Conquest games.

When you playing Conquest games...put your pitcher in the leadoff spot and use him as an opener. You'll be forced to hit with him getting you more parallel points and then just pitch with him as long as you can. Speeds up paralleling pitchers.

This - I always have a lineup full of new cards at the ready. I'll play a couple offline then 1 or 2 online, see who stands out and have them in my lineup when I'm serious. Keep an eye on them to see if I keep or store.

Some guys are great vs CPU but stink online and vice versa

If I feel that card will be an improvement for me, then I will play with it to see how it plays for me. Not every card will be better just because it is new. Some cards plays well for some & not others. But you nerd to see for yourself which ones are best for you.
