The bad thing about Double XP
-
XP is super easy to accrue now. It's a bummer to feel like you're wasting it, but honestly since you still have a lot to grind offline, you should keep playing and complete whatever you can. There will only be 1 or 2 more innings and then xp will be done for the season so you might as well keep playing. There will be plenty of things to help you every inning to get xp:
2 conquests
2 evolution PPs
2-3 regular PPs
Extra innings missions
Boss collection
Double xp
RTTS archetypes etc. There is no shortage.

Yeah. I get that. It's just that even without the double XP, and even if I don't hit the cap at 60K, which I probably won't get if I stick to Moments, that's about 30-40k per day that is going to be wasted. In nine days thats 270-360K.
I know I definitely won't do the Conquest Maps, as even in a slow game, you get about 1500 per game. I'll save those for next inning.
What I may do is just work on Moments since you only get a few hundred in XP per moment. That way I can finish the Monthly and Player Programs and it have to worry about new content and any Conquest Maps when the next Inning drops.
I may also cut down the amount of time I play per day.
Maybe do a few sets of Moments each day.
I will try to finish out the BR Program since that ends before the new Inning drops.

Also, the player programs and conquest maps don't carry over. I mean you'll get the XP for actually playing but the XP you get for completing is only good for this inning. I have gotten to 650 about a week early every inning except the last one because it was only 3 weeks. But I still finished early. But I have no life right now hahaha.

Yeah. I knew that EVERYTHING but a few Online Missions, all the Extra Inning Missions, the 3 boss exchange, and the Showdown done for this inning.
No reason to do any of those now.
I'll see if I can hammer out the BR program here within the next few days and then just concentrate on all the Moments I need.

I just looked. The collections and conquests alone are 280xp. If you do the Conquest it's 315xp all together. Add the extra innings is another 50-60xp. You really only need about 12-15xp a day if you complete those.

If they keep the same value next inning. Also you need to take into effect that all that XP is spread out through the program. Of I remember correctly, without doing the 3 bosses for 50K; at the beginning if this program you could get about 100K just form Program specific content.

For sure, this month was a bit different too because the Molina and Wade Davis programs carried over. Anyway, like I said, I get the feeling of "missing out" on xp, literally all I'm getting for doing anything right now is boosting my stats and some stubs and cards for the jack o lantern map. I have nothing saved for the 9th inning other than the bosses but I will finish it in 3 weeks like always (not bragging, I need to stop being a homebody and go out again hahaha). I was completely caught up on all offline content at the beginning of the inning so all my xp came from 8th inning content and the playoff programs. And I finished yesterday before the new Conquest map came out. And I've never once even come close to the daily cap.

Then there should be an option to not take double XP. 'Are you sure you don't want the boost?' LOL.
Or like in the Resident Evil games: 'Will you take the crank?'
Or like the Vax: 'Will you take the shot?'
I'll take double XP every time. I'm only looking to get the ASG and HRD pack this time and am at around 510K with 8, 9 days to go. -

The first time hit 650xp early I was like...no I'm wasting all this xp. Now I'm just bummed I don't have anything to grind but I'll still take double or triple or whatever xp I don't miss out on that haha.
-
To “avoid wasting XP”, doesn’t strike me as a viable option; you’d have to stop playing altogether. I’m going to focus on Player Programs however: I definitely stop daily exchanges and RTTS once I hit 650K!
-
Focus on paralleling up players during all those offline games. A SP gets points for a CG/SO when they pitch 3 innings in Conquest.

I think you are to worry about xp, I hit 650 every inning with about a week left to go, I am not worried about the so called wasted XP. If you stop playing and then at some point decide you will do that other stuff any ways you should just keep playing. They alway give enough XP to get to the bosses and if you play enough you can get to the 650 pretty easy.

Good idea. I'll run through run it back a few times doing that.

As you mentioned you have many Maps & Programs you have NOT completed. Then use this time to catch up & do as many of those Maps & Programs. Forget about 8th Inning XP. You still will get all the Parallel XP points with players you use & will get new cards to help you complete Collection Vouchers for Kershaw & Betts if you have not done so yet. As well you could use this time to play AI on "Legend" to improve your game play even more. I see NO reason why you are seeing this a dilemma or a negative issue. You should be happy that you got 8th Inning out of the way & NOT needing to worry about it.

@dirty-shawnchez_psn said in The bad thing about Double XP:
Is that I'm already at 650K and any XP I accrue, between now and next Fri, will be wasted.
So, to those that have had this happen before; do you keep playing or do you take a break?
I still need to finish all the Conquest Maps in the West TAs.
I also need to do the RIB map, CS map, FOD map, Shark sharp, the Mother's Day, the Father's Day, the USA map, and all the 'odd' Maps. Including the one that will probably drop Fri.
I also need to do the 42 Series Moments, the Welcome to Moments program, whichever Rewind Daily player I pick tomorrow (probably Mad [censored] if I go in order), ALL the TA Moments (don't need to do these unless I want ALL Content done), EVERY SINGLE WEEK of TN Moments, EVERY one of the Monthly Moments, ALL the Player Program Moments except the ones for players I already completed (Scherzer, Carter, Stargell, Smoltz, WC, DS, Merrifield, and Griffey Sr).
And I still need at least 4 pts for the Rewind pack in the BR Program and 24 pts if I want the 12-0 pack.
I'm not worried about the current Event as I can just buy those players if needed.
So, is it worth losing a TON of XP to keep playing, so I can catch up, or do I just log in for my Daily Moments and take the next nine days off?
I know it's my decision; but if you were in my shoes; what would you suggest?
I take a break and wait for the new inning, except for the daily or any content that has an expiration date before the new inning comes out. All the content I didn't get before will then count towards the new inning.

Tony the with sage advice. It's out of the way!!! I started about a week into the second inning and didn't really know how to do anything but moments for the first few days. Thankfully, some friends "laced me up" and showed me the ropes and a bunch of people helped me as well but I still missed 650xp by about 50k. I was so mad ( stupid thing to be mad about I know). So, it's never a bad thing to complete the inning early.
