(TLDR: frustrated. Hitting stinks. Your boy is taking a break. )
This post is out of pure frustration. I’ve been playing this game since the midnight release. I remember my girlfriend asking me how it was considering my excitement leading up to the release. I told her “it seems really polished. I’m enjoying myself a lot!” I lost my first game but it was okay. I knew i lost due to my own mistakes. It was a 16-14 game but it was a lot of fun. I, like many I’m sure, spent some money on an Initial pack purchase. Got some nice diamonds etc. Then you guys released a patch, and I honestly don’t even recognize the game anymore. Squared up “okay” contact, perfect pitch release and location ends up middle of the plate. Practicing on legend just to be able to hit the fastball on All star difficulty. Opponent getting consecutive hits on balls in the other batters box. Outfielders forgetting they’re in the game.
Iv been playing The show since roughly 2012. I’m no where near good enough to be able to forego these problems. I’m not Mcgunski or Koogs. Nor have I ever claimed to be. I’m just a fan who honestly does not want to play anymore. Sure I can play RTTS, but the core of the game revolves around DD in my opinion. I’m going to stop playing for a while. I’ve gotten really toxic and when the content creators I watch even show frustration with the game, then I know it’s time for me to just hold off until an update comes out that the community as a whole is good with. Then I’ll come back and try it again.
I still love The show. But something has to give. I look forward to your next developer stream where maybe you can address some of the concerns we have as a community.

At my skill level games are literally decided by who the game favors/screws. How is that making me better? I win a game on a hit in which my PCI wasn’t even touching the ball, I lose the next game because my pitches are being floated over the middle.
I don’t even feel good when I win because I know it’s fake, the game made it happen. When I lose I feel like it was my opponents turn to win. Like seriously, if more players had integrity and called this bs out, maybe we would get a better game. But no, you’ll always have the fanboys and their excuse of “it happens in real baseball”.....THIS IS A VIDEO GAME.

I won a close game last night 3-2. Me and my opponent both couldn't get a hit for nothing even on good/perfect contact. I won on a walkoff hr and my pci was barely touching the ball.

O won a game last night the guy jumped up 5-0 on me in 2 innings, he hit everything, then all of a sudden he couldn't hit anything after that, I one eventually 8-6 hitting six home runs, as that was reallyy only form of hitting.... Something seems off

Hey bro we have been calling this game out since patch 1.04 which ruined the game after it was released for 2 days. At release it was the best playing Show that I can remember. I have been buying this game since 2006 and playing DD since 2016 and I was having FUN. Now its the most frustrating game ever. Hitting is still broke, fielders are napping and pitchers are throwing BP. Not a peep out of SDS and yet there were hundreds of complaints from here and Reddit about gameplay. Only reason I'm still playing is because I'm home recuperating from a hip replacement and have nothing else to do. Its also a good thing we are under lockdown because I can't get out and buy a new controller. That's how much I have wanted to throw it against the wall. LOL

Your not alone my friend. Every year the gameplay seems to be more and more tuned to retain players by handing out cheap wins through bs gameplay. Lately I’ve just been working the market or playing some Online Rated, which is also unbearable to play but at least it doesn’t mean much to win/lose. I’ll hover over the Ranked Season tab and say to myself...do I really want to put myself through this hell....lol. I don’t know, I’m not a great player but I want to feel like I earned my wins and lost to a better player, not this, who did the game screw over or favor bs we have right now.

Thanks for the continued feedback my fellow players. I know I’m not an amazing player. I consider myself pretty good. But lately Iv been feeling almost like I’m drunk with these pitch speeds, reaction times and bad hits / errors. It’s lame

I can't hit for
once I reach Pennant Race. At All-Star division or below, most of my guys are hitting well over .300, some around .400. Then I reach Pennant Race and get knocked back down every time because I can't hit/score.
Doesn't help that guys already have full diamond squads and I'm still gold. Wish it were easier to earn rewards without having to play offline so much. Online is all I care about.

This is an honest question. To me, is it easier hitting higher difficulties against the CPU then lower difficulties in DD. I practice on legend and I always face either Cole or Buehler. I want to experience pitchers with high heat. After a while I am able to really see the pitches come in. When playing online, I have difficulties seeing anything. Just wondering if anyone else feels the same.

Absolutely, and that's one of the most frustrating parts of this game every year. Each game mode feels different to play. If I can hit the CPU on Hall of Fame, then why do I face issues in Ranked Seasons on Hall of Fame?
The constant switching between difficulty levels, behind the scenes tweaks and slider adjustments makes each mode feel like a completely different game.
Ranked Seasons hitting right now is not in a good place.
