Exchanging duplicates

Did they take this away again? I had bat grip as one of my Dailies today, and went to advance that daily but saw mine were all dark like I had none so I went and bought a silver one which would give me the 200 points needed to advance the mission. Went back and they are still dark. So went into my inventory and it shows I have 2.
I guess it shouldnt matter since I just bought one and immediately went to exchange it for the mission. And I can resell if I wanted.

Got the daily.....stadium and had one no sell and bought another and it wouldn't let me exchange the one I just bought....so screwed up. It's like they have great ideas but constantly fail the executions of said idea. Quite disappointing
