Wild pitch on 0-0, batter got tagged out

Craziest thing just happened. My batter got tagged out standing in the box after a wild pitch. Went back and forth with the runner in second, but still some weird shizz.

I’m mad as a hornet when that stuff happens. I feel like the CPU is doing everything in its power (and beyond) to get my batters and baserunners out by doing the following Magic speed boosts, no-tag outs (I have the umpires set to perfect, but this still happens), my baserunners being slower than their stats when they steal (even Lofton!)... etc.
What really gets me is that Alex Verdugo will lean into a pitch to get hit as he swings, sending him to first instead of striking out. The thing in the corner clearly shows that he went. He did this TWICE in the same conquest game. But when I swing and get hit, I get rung up. ¯l_(ツ)_/¯
