Starting a Franchise with custom roster

Here’s my problem. When I start a franchise with a custom roster the CPU messes up the rosters once the season starts. I’ve removed everyone not on the Major League roster from the 40 man to try and avoid this but the CPU adds guys to the 40 man for Spring Training and once the season starts the rosters are a mess. For example, I have Noah Syndergaard, Carlos Carrasco, Robinson Canó all off the 40 man because they haven’t played all year but once I start the regular season they are on the MLB roster in place of other guys. In years past I can remember starting the Franchise with just 26 guys on the 40 man so my rosters were accurate but I can’t figure it out this year.

Try simming the spring training until the last day, then remove everyone from the major league roster to the minors and see if that works.
