How is a scheduled patch and server Maintanence considered "sever issues"?

I wish they just scheduled the patch every Thursday from 7 am - 9 am and just told us that instead of sending a random tweet in the middle of the night. Not a big deal, I’ll just go outside. But I did have a window this morning to play so I’m a little grumpy now.
