I have been playing The Show since the PS1 era, I cant still track the ball when batting. I used strike zone, center only, and diamonds, I start at the top of the strike zone but still can't see where the ball going to.

I'm a first year player on xbox. I've watched so many videos that explain the 101 but realistically you just have to keep messing with it until you find what works for you. Then down the road that might not work for you anymore so you have to change again lol i first started at the top of the zone and did okay. Then I messed with my pci color and shape for probably about a week and landed on just the outter and I think cyan. On top of that I now set up different as well. If I'm facing a pitcher with a sinking fastball as their primary I start at the very bottom of the zone. If the pitcher has pretty much anything else as their primary pitch I start lower in the zone but not all the way down. Another thing that changes my at bats is the guy in the box... if I'm playing a moment and the batter is more of a contact hitter you don't want to be under the ball hardly at all so I stay in the middle when setting up. But if the batter is a home run hitter I do my usual set up lower in the zone for the lift. Again, every player is different but I hope you got something from my rambling lol have fun 👍

I suggest going into practice mode. You can select a single pitch and where they go. Try different pitches in different locations and learn where the rise and fall and the curve of the breaking balls. After awhile, hopefully you'll see the pattern of how different pitches look. Also, find a stadium with something in the batter's eye that will help see the release point of pitches as well.
