RTTS - Free Agent Failure
-
I just completed my 2024 season with the Yankees. I received an in game notification that "The Yankees have decided not to tender you a contract. You are now a free agent and may sign with any team". But, nothing pinged in the off-season and when the next season started, I was still on the Yankees.
And when I go to my player card, I see a salary for 2025, arbitration for 26-27, and FA for 2028 and on.
What in the world??? -
Just out of curiosity how did you do during the season? Were you in a position where they were loaded? When you look at their roster do you see a new big name free agent signed that plays your position? Do they have a bunch of high level prospects in your position as well?
Not criticizing, but trying to figure out what may be the issue. I think it may be because your player is not FA eligible and they are trying to take advantage. I suggest just taking arbitration until you can be a full FA and walk to a team that can put you to work. That is unless you have your heart set on being a Yankee.

I play CF and Pitcher and obviously the game identifies me most as a pitcher. As a pitcher, my ERA and WHIP were both under 1.00 with 30+ wins under my belt.
As a batter, I broke many records including some of my own from previous years.
I did notice that in pitching rotation I got moved from #1 to #3, but they haven't really gotten anyone new.
And no, I only wanted to start as a yankee. But I'd rather move to a team that could really appreciate my player. -
OK. I won't be able to help as much as I thought. I am playing the show 20. I have read multiple articles and/or saw videos where the two way player has lots of bugs in it when it comes to roster issues. Some report that despite being dominant players being left off post season rosters, etc.
Unfortunately that may be the issue for you. Since you would prefer to stay with the Yankees I would say keep signing one year deals until you are eligible for free agency then sign a long term deal if they offer you one. I would recommend checking the millions of YouTube videos to see if anyone has better advice.
