Anyone else think SDS turned into EA here? They completely bungled RTTS for me and it’s not even as close to enjoyable as previous years. They seem to have turned into a greedy company like EA and would rather focus on Diamond Dynasty rather than fix RTTS so they can make more money off of players.

Of course they moved into areas where they make more money, why wouldn't they? That doesn't mean that they didn't screw up RTTS but their main goal in making a video game is to make money and DD is amazingly popular so again, why wouldn't they?

They are going the way of EA but to say that they are turning into a greedy company well, that's just false. In DD it's very easy to obtain cards and stack a line up with minimal effort so that isn't even close to what EA has done. SdS is going downhill but not because of that at all.

Very unfinished, but then look at the other games to release during the pandemic, most were delayed 4-6 months, this one only got a month.

While I will agree this year's RTTS hasn't been great they did state that this is basically the base version of it that they plan on building off in the future. Companies say that all the time and never improve on anything but I have some hope that next year will be implemented better.

Please bare with me as I have a lot to say.
So I will say this, compared to other iterations of RTTS this year is sub par, while DD is very popular RTTS is their most popular game mode l. That being said, DD is becoming more popular every year. Now to the topic at hand, SDS basically hit the reboot button with TS21 and they absolutely had to, I've play TS since 17 it's had its ups and downs however with the pandemic drastically slowing production and with the fact that they had to build 4 different versions of the game its understandable that they messed somethings up. This year they had to build not just PS4, but also PS5, Xbox one, and the new Xbox Series S and X. They also implemented brand new features into the game like Create a Stadium and the new 2-way ballplayer, but they also tied RTTS and DD together via the ballplayer, all things considered I think with all the limitations from the pandemic and expansion into Xbox I feel SDS did a pretty good job. Like I said this was SDS hitting the reboot button MLB TS 21 is basically MLB TS 1 now they have a new framework to build off of, next year they can make adjustments to their weaker points like the ballplayer, RTTS has major bugs and the ballplayer in DD is broken there are only a few Archetypes and it's a pain to actually use your ballplayer in a "secondary position" I feel that next year they should implement 10 Archetypes 1 for each position with the gold and diamond levels having different pros and cons or make it so that the ballplayer can actually play those secondary position with only the secondary position negative.

My example is my ballplayer with the Crime Dog Archetype (3B primary) he has 99 fielding but when I put him at first I get the OOP negative and he makes routine errors I've learned how to negate the effects of errors somewhat but a lot of people like to put themselves in the game I model myself after myself IRL I'm 6'7 and left handed, I've played every possible position on the field (all adult leagues) so I don't mind being a lefty 3B however my primary position is first base (you could ask anyone on my team who they would rather have at first base and regardless of all our other first baseman the entire team will all say they want me there) I'm not on par with a Major league 1B but I don't have the time to put in the work to be that good if I hadn't given up on baseball and actually tried to do something with it I could have been but I digress and am rambling. I'll say this I'm content with this year's game it's not an amazing game but it is the best sports game in my opinion and that's simply because it's not only pay to win the yes paying will get you there faster but you have the opportunity to get the best cards in the game absolutely free and they even implemented the BR and Ranked programs to even further that cause. I'll end with this. This is the new game and they have rebooted the franchise and increased their revenue which will help them get better equipment to design the game and it will also help them get more legends

The new version of RTTS is Ridiculous we have one two way player in all of baseball, everything in this version is about two way players, and you cannot even make two players. I have bought MLB for 6, 8 years but I don’t even play this version anymore I am play the 20 version and I will not buy 22 until I am sure it is not like this on

If this year’s model is an indication of where RTTS is headed then I won’t be buying future versions.

I quit playing a few weeks ago and haven’t even logged in on console.

I got bored with DD by the end of inning two. In previous years I could just build multiple RTTS players, with different characteristics and positions, and when I felt burned out on one I could switch things up.

The different archetypes all follow the same build paths and is just as boring as repeating multiple conquest maps and versus CPU games.

The company can create whatever type of game they want, but I don’t have to continuously blindly follow.

I hope they revert to previous RTTS options, until then good luck to all of you who somehow enjoy this year’s system.

At least it's not just me thinking this, What made Madden so great was it's career mode and then the franchise, they went away from that and spent just about all of their time on the MUT stuff where they can get you to use a credit card to make "in game purchases" unless you lived on the game to earn what you need. We are seeing SDS take The Show there, making the stupid change from attributes that advanced your player up the levels based on how well you played. Now we get these "arc's" that upgrade your player capping your max stats at 50. No longer does playing well move your player up the roster but how much your willing to spend on the arc's minus the main one. My advice which I know they don't really care is to dump the arc's next year and go back to playing the game ups your attributes. Go back to choosing from minute 1 if you want to pitch, play in the field or both. If we can choose from 8 different positions we should be able to choose whether we want to do both or not from the very start.CLEARLY we all like the game or we wouldn't bother sharing our thoughts, the issue is does SDS care enough about the players?

I solved my 2021 RTTS issues simply, I went back to RTTS 2020. That plays the way I want it to play.
