Secondary Position Strategy
-
I have a general question about what people would rather do, and I'll give my own example. On my franchise team I have 4 outfielders, Aaron Judge (Diamond RF primary), Randy Arozarena (Diamond CF primary), Brett Gardner (Gold LF primary), and Alek Thomas (Common CF primary). Each of these players have the other outfield positions as their secondary positions. My go to is to have the 2 diamonds and the 1 gold outfielders start most of the games.
Assuming 1 of the 3 starters needs a rest day, and I would have to start the common outfielder, my question is as follows: Is it a better strategy to have a common player play a secondary position, or is it a better strategy to have a gold/diamond player play at a secondary position?

Anytime you start Thomas start him in left. If Arozarena has the day off put Gardner in center. If judge has the day off put Gardner in center and arozarena in right.
