When you invest in a player are you in it for a quick turnaround or the long haul?
Ex: you invest in a 72 Bronzes player thinking he has the potential to do good.
You end up buying 1000 copies of this player at 25-33 stubs each.
He eventually goes Silver. Let's say 76ovr
Now he's selling for around 100-200 stubs.
Do you dump some to get some profits right away or do you sit on all of them waiting for him to go Gold, maybe even Diamond, knowing that if he doesn't, and stats a Silver, you're still guaranteed at least 100 stubs per card? Also knowing that if he does end up crapping out, you can at least get close to your purchase price back.

I guess it depends on if you have somewhere to go with the stubs.

It depends on the guy's past performance. The ratings updates where guys go up or down in overall are based on the previous 3 seasons' stats, so if a guy is a bronze because he hit sub-mendoza for two seasons and is now setting the league on fire and hitting .345, then it's possible he would get capped at a silver until that sample size grew appreciably. Who are you invested in? I can check my model and see how they're looking for the update friday.

I do both. I have short-term guys I think are going Diamond in their next update and I have long-term guys I think will get there eventually.
Example: in the previous updates I had been heavily invested in: Posey, Lynn, Burnes, Vladdy, Flaherty. All bought below 2500 stubs. Vlad, Posey, Burnes went diamond. Waiting on Lynn and A few others. Annoyed as heck by Flaherty lol
Those were my short-term ones.
My long-term plays that look to pan out: Means, Glasgow, Wheeler. All bought below 500 stubs.
So far so good but I'm hardly good at this stuff. I have quite a few stubs that I can't really do much with so investing for fun seemed to be the route to take.

I usually only invest in golds that will go diamond at some point. If i happen to do bronze or silvers though, its for the quick turnaround i.e buy at 140, sell for 375.

I have been very heavily investing in a few bronzes and silvers that I believe will go gold if they continue playing the way they are, based on current performance and past seasons. I have almost 500 of a bronze card that will probably go silver in the next update. I got most of them for about 30 stubs. I won’t sell at silver, at least not yet. If he starts tanking after becoming a silver, I could always still quick sell for 100 stubs each and I have still made great profit. But if he continues to do well, even if he doesn’t go gold the speculation will drive the price far higher than the 100 quick sell value. So I would say hold your bronzes if they go silver, don’t sell yet

Oh. I have no reason to believe my guy will be upgraded anytime soon. I bought earlier in the year thinking he would do good and he hasnt. If he doesn't go at least Hold, I'll sell off at QS value at the end of the year.

Low guys like that I flip overnight. I'll put in about 100 orders around 30-60 stubs at night wake up the next day, cancel anything that didn't go through then sell them all. Usually make around 10-20k in a day or 2. You can make a lot more actively flipping but I'm not patient enough to flip.
