My last post on this. But it's really distracting and, obviously, pretty controversial.

There are people that swear it's due to network lag, but it's not that at all. People that say it's your slow TV. That makes less sense since it's situational.

Situational in that, depending on the game and outcome that has been predetermined, you'll never touch that high fast ball. Impossible. I've actually put placed my PCI target in the top of the zone and swung at different speeds and would always get "Very Late". It's a known fact that anyone can hit the fastest fastball if they know when/where it's coming. But that's where this game digresses from realism.

Not situational in that some games against the same pitcher/batter I just nonchalantly swing from low to high and rock that fastball.

Just saying the variables aren't monitor refresh rate, network, eye-hand coordination, etc. or we would never (or always) hit that high fastball.

The variable is this appears to be event block code. A crutch, if you will, so the game can control outcomes. Which is fine, but I believe the coders should be a little more creative. They shouldn't just stop the ability to hit it for stretches at a time like they do. It just devalues the realism and adds to player frustration. I don't know the answer, but I'm not a programmer either.

My wish list for 2022 is please figure out how to implement the blow-away fast ball without making it the impossible fastball for stretches. When someone is laying on a fastball and timing it..they should always make contact and never-ever see "very late".

I've read ppl posts saying it's lazy code and all that. I don't believe that's necessarily true, but it surely isn't creative and realism-designed code.

This is a game where the high sinker….yes, the high sinker, an oxymoron really, is the best pitch in the game. I would never mistake this game for being realistic in any way lol.

100% the system is controlling more than we can imagine.

But your slow Tv definitely plays a part too.

I've heard from many ppl outside this game that fast monitors make a difference. I do believe that for sure. Especially online shooters and what not. Still contemplating buying one after someone made that suggestion..perhaps you?

Just not sure it has a lot to do with this high fast-ball "very late" that comes in bunches in games and then just goes away in other games. I mean back to back games.

Probably does play a part in the isolated fastball scenarios. When it should. But, in this game, when it goes into "put down your controller because it doesn't count mode" reality takes a back seat to AI control.

Most high def TVs have a game mode that limits input lag.

Fastballs thrown anywhere usually get smacked from my online experience this year.
