Hitting......

Im a first year the show player. Always have played sports games with good success. Can anyone tell me how to hit the ball? I feel like I got zone down for a couple days and now I'm overcompensating my pci on everything I can't read a pitch to save my life all of a sudden. Im tanking my Batting average with everyone because I'm going through such a slump. Is zone really the only way to be competitive in DD Ranked? Any pure analog users or directional? I'm just lost on what to do right now any advice would be appreciated!!!!!!!!

Definitely stay with zone hitting online to stay consistent.. simple advice would be to find your distance from TV. For example, if I’m laying down I can’t focus on tracking pitches and when I’m too close to monitor my timing is off. When I’m sitting a couple feet away is when I can lock PCI and time swings more often than not. Just find your sweet spot

This is a really hard game - especially online. So don’t get too down as it just takes time. At least for me until I got a monitor I could never get my timing to the point of consistently hitting well. Helps a ton.

Practice in practice mode. Put on legend and use a pitcher that you have trouble reading. Just track the pitches and don't swing,, practice knowing what the pitches are before they get caught. That will help with pitch recognization.

Less is more. It’s just getting out of the habit of jerking your movement. Easier said than done in a split second but just keep at it bro

Cannot emphasize enough the importance of pitch selection. Early in your game, see a lot of pitches, start to get a feel for the timing and break of whomever it is you're facing - and in an online game, you might have minor lag issues as well. Also, every time you swing, you give information to your opponent - what areas you like, what you'll chase, etc. Pitching isn't super-easy either, and if you're patient you will usually get a pitch to hit without having to move your PCI too much.
-
The best thing to do is the same thing all good hitters do IRL. Stop chasing. Sit middle in, and focus on timing and not location. (Your right hand, not left). Don't chase anything. Wait for it middle. If you wait for something middle, chances are it'll be a strike that you need to swing at anyways, and not a pitch on the black that you'll either miss or hit into an out.
If you lock into it well enough, you may start to make very small PCI adjustments within the strike zone instead of jamming it, because you're not chasing.
Let the pitcher come to you.

Take all the pressure off yourself. You’ll go into slumps when you just try to put your pci on everything and swing at everything. Try to pick a spot on the plate that you like and sit there, if it isn’t going there then take it. Most good hits in this game are on balls over the middle so wait for those!
