Pity win?

I'm playing Conquests now that seem like a lot of fun. But, I just ran into some strange results.
I tried to Steal Fans from the Yankees on Veteran and got hit by back-to-back-to-back HR's in the 2nd. Didn't get one hit myself. So, by accident, I tried it again on the very next cycle on Hall of Fame. Same pitching match up. They didn't get one hit and I won 2-0 with 6 hits. What does this mean?
It sounds like it means I should always play on HoF because it's easier than Veteran, but it sure doesn't play out that way. Anyone else have similar experiences? If so, do you have suggestions as to why?

I think it's just flukes in short games. I've had 10+ run games on HOF conquest and also had veteran games where I've had to claw for a single run.
Given all that, I guarantee that my stats are far better on veteran than HOF if you look at all the games I've played in conquest

There’s games where the CPU will just play better than normal. Or specific innings where they literally seem possessed. Add that with numerous lineouts or a double play while you’re hitting and you can lose. Kind of like Showdowns.
Basically why 3 inning games (conquest, events, BR) are fluky in general.

Was it the same matchup pitcher wise? Was there wind in either game?

It was the same 2 pitchers. I didn't notice the wind speed.
