My ballplayer is stuck at 1B

My ballplayer is a shortstop in RTTS and I have never made a first baseman. I cannot play him at short only at first base and he doesn't have any of his stats. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

so what would making a first baseman do to fix it

The game doesn't want you to play the position you desire. So you got to trick it into thinking you want play somewhere else.

No I don't play RTTS. Strictly DD for me.
