Here has been my experience with Two Way RTTS QOL issues.
I played an entire half season before realizing I wasn’t progressing as an outfielder or starting pitcher....cause if the load out you select pregame isn’t your active load out. There’s not progression tracking. This means I have to pay real close attention to when I’m pitching (which changes frequently. More on that soon)
I think it would be best if when you select a load out in that pregame screen, it should become the active loadout. If that’s not possible we should be able to back out of the screen so that we don’t have to restart the game to be able to change our active loadout for the gain and have progression tracked. An overly complicated and or redundant system that could be streamlined with a few tweaks.
Now, as a result of the active loadout not being applied when selecting a loadout in the pregame interface... I’ve started going to view the calendar and starting my games from there.. I’m able to see when I’m pitching next and that helps me with knowing when I need to switch my active loadout.
However the following has happened to me enough that having to quit and restart is making me feel like I’ve gone back in time and need to blow on a cartridge. Hahaha.
I currently have a situation where it is showing me as the starting pitcher on the calendar. So I set to my SP loadout as active.
I go in and start the game but once that screen loads I’m no longer pitching. I’m either outfield or DH. So due to not being able to back out and change my active load out. I quit. Restart. Check the calendar still starting pitcher. Back out. Change the active to OF cause last time it switched on me. This time it doesn’t switch. So I rinse and repeat. 5 times. Each time it had me on opposite of what I’ve set my active load out to.
Even when I rebooted the 5th time. I left the active load out alone and hoped it would just work. Nope.
I’ve had this happen a lot. But never had it happen where one quit and restart wouldn’t fix the little mixup.
So. That’s my two way bummer rant. Not too bad. But a bummer nonetheless.
I’ve already missed out on so much progression for half the season that I might as well restart in the American League so I can enjoy batting too. That or just cave and do DD. I’m not a fan of these card pack games though.
Just wanna know if I’m alone in my frustrations.
Thank you for your time if you’ve made it this far.

When you jump to the next game in the lower left hand corner it will tell you what position you are playing in the next game so that you can pick the right loadout

Man same thing with my two player it won’t even let me add a forth pitch if the game was not ready they shouldn’t have released it I’m to the point I want my money back

I have progressed 10 games in a row after doing the following, including one game as pitcher. Both loadouts progressed accurately.
I am afraid to quit the game and test that it works again, so I am gonna ride this will it's working and will edit/comment after I try to repeat the process.
Do the DD one at bat technique as soon as you log on, and then... (if you don' know what it is, look it up, there are articles and youtube vids)
- Go back into RTTS, hit the BACK button (double square looking small button on xbox) that brings up a column of options on the left side of the screen.
- Go to inbox. Right bumper to settings. Last setting is "missions." Make sure this is on.
- optional - check your rtts progression numbers that are stuck and write them down.
- Play a game, but DO NOT EVER use the "sim to next appearance" option, whether it's the option that comes up after each play along with the "watch whole game" option, or the one in the pause menu with the 6 tabs at the top.
a. after each at bat, if not on the bases, let it go to the screen with the lineups that show you each at bat. Hit B to skip to your next appearance. - Go back to club house after each game. Not sure if this matters, but it's what I am doing.

Looking at Cypher's reply, this game's RTTS is flat out broken (laughing)

So, you have to do this dance just to get the game to work as it should? That seems....absurd.

That’s not what he’s talking about though. When you go to “My Ballplayer” from the RTTS menu, you can change which load out is your “Active” load out. What that means is your progress goes to that load out only. So let’s say you have your position player load out set as active. You play a few games in the field with that load out and then when it’s time to pitch you switch your load out in the break between games for the next one, and you see the word active next to your position player load out. You can change your guy to the pitching load out, but because the position player load out says active next to it, your pitcher will not progress.

RamRod is correct. That’s my issue. The DD workaround fixed my initial progress issue but that was before I posted my original thing. Really my biggest gripe is how inconvenient it is to play a smooth TwoWay experience.
The active load out issue is my gripe.
