Ok, so I decided to keep the PS5. Mainly because if I take the cash for it, I have to claim it as taxable income.
If I take the console, it can be written off as a gift.
Anyway, once I get the console do I need to do anything to get my account to switch over to the PS5 version?
Also, I'm probably going to give my PS4 to my nephew to play; so I want to make sure if I set the PS5 up as primary that I can delete the game off the PS4 HD. Is that possible?
And if that is possible, can my son (who will also have an account on the PS5) still play with his team?
If I could please get some definite answers here, from a dev, it would be appreciated.

Not sure if its much help, but I bought the game on my ps5 digitally, and have logged into my cousins account who only owns a ps4, and not the game, and can still play with his account that is fresh, I log on to grab the free bundles they been giving.

Ok. I guess I would be the same. I mean I did buy the Digital Deluxe; so there really isn't a code.
And I assume that it will work just like the PS4. As long as my GT is Primary; my son can play just like he currently plays. He just doesnt Daily Doubles and didn't get the preorder bonuses.

Keep the game on the hard drive. Assuming your nephew has his own psn account when he logs on to it, your games that are saved on the HDD should all appear for him to play, it just won’t be on your account and everything will be brand new files for him, like he bought the game used. If he deletes a game off the HDD he will no longer have access to it. I believe this should work for him, and when you have the ps5, the game should show up in your library to download.

I assumed you wanted to give your nephew the system plus the game. If that’s not the case then there is no issue. Just reset the console and delete your user profile and all the files on the console. When you get your ps5 all you have to do is log into your account on the system and you’ll have access to your library and you can download games. The account is separate from the console. All of your game info, game files, and account purchases are stored on PlayStation’s servers

Ok. So I'll have access to everything I have on there now? (I also have Madden; but can the PS5 play that version if it's a PS4 digital copy?

Yes anything you bought digitally from the ps store you’ll still have access to and can be downloaded to the ps5. For madden yes, but I don’t have it so I don’t know if their next gen version is free or a charge. It’s up to each individual studio what they want, 2k has 2 different versions, a ps5 game and a PS4 one, so if you have 2k21 for PS4 you won’t get a free upgrade to the ps5 one, whereas for God of war and some others games, the upgrade is free

The ps5 should prompt you to use the same profile log in as your PS4 and it should be seamless. All of your game data carries over with your profile. You can delete the game and your profile from the PS4. Just factory reset it. Won’t matter.
Also Yea the ps5 can play all PS4 game version you just won’t have the bells and whistles of the ps5 version. I think you have to pay to upgrade this game to ps5 version anyway. In the store you will see different copies of the game. Just select the one that doesn’t show next gen or the one that does, whichever you are trying to get. Madden upgrade is free but it sucks lol.
