Fingers Crossed for a Contact Swing patch today.

They have to do something to fix the contact swing exit velo. I should not be able to hit 5 home runs in an inning simply using contact swing. It already makes the PCI bigger and there needs to be some penalty to using it otherwise it is just going to be foul ball city until they eventually piece one up. Fingers crossed this next patch addresses it and and people can stop using it as a crutch.
Contact swing should be useful on guys like lofton, lou brock, dee gordon, etc. and in certain situations when you need a ball in play. Not overpowered and able to consistently go yard with.
Edit: Just read the notes.... F me they didn't touch it. This is going to get dumb in a hurry once everyone catches on.

Well this makes a lot of sense. I thought the opponents PCI feedback was just bugged because people I would play against have MASSIVE PCI compared to me every at bat. But I guess its cause contact swing is glitched first I am hearing of it.

Maybe this is why so many people I play who swing at everything and have no discipline have players averaging in the mid 300s to 400s

Yep its especially bad on all-star difficulty. In the event/BR its dang near impossible to swing and miss at this point. With no real penalty to power for contact swinging there really isn't any downside at the moment.

This is a major gameplay issue surprised they didn't do a patch for it

you should know by now as soon as they do anything to adjust the hitting its going to throw off the whole game somehow and the rest of the year everyone will be dying for it to go back to normal.

I actually love how "normal swings" are calibrated this year. The game plays amazing on HOF difficulty IMO. Legend is probably fine too but I'm not a good enough hitter to touch anything on legend consistently. All-Star it's a little too easy to hit IMO but I'm fine with it overall. My only gripe is the contact swing mechanic not functioning as it should and it is overpowered.
There just should be some disadvantage to using contact swings like there always has been. No reason to have bigger PCI's for a contact swing and still have the same exit velos which lead to HR's contact swinging. If there's no penalty to power for a contact swing it will be pretty overpowered and abused once people catch on and trust me they already are. It's going to be 10 pitch AB after 10 pitch AB with people fouling everything off with monster PCI's and no penalty to exit velo.

Yep. Played a guy on HOF that used it yesterday. He hit 2 HR's, one of which would have been a HR anyway. The other one wasn't even touching the PCI. A lot of 5-8 pitch AB's with ridiculous foul balls.
