My girlfriend likes opening packs. On the way home today I told her I had 5 packs for her to open. First pack she pulls Trout. I screamed like a little girl and ran around the house like a mad man. I love life.
Congrats!!! She’s a keeper I got Buehler out of it so at least I got something. The feeling of pulling the big fish is pretty cool. I pulled him for the first time ever the day before official release.

If you did that and she didn’t break up with you, you got a good one!

I just really wanted to make this forum to say that SDS does actually give a [censored], especially compared to 2k and madden. Yeah it took awhile, but they're finally getting there. To the people that complain about what they gave us, they could have given us nothing. I think it was madden 19 or 20 the servers were worse than mlb's were this year and they didn't give us anything. Not to mention 10 showdown TA vouchers free and a free 42 series player. SDS is better than any other sports game company hands down.
Yes and no. Most of us wish this wasn’t the case. Get your stuff together before release. Video game company’s now of days are constantly putting out broken games and then patching them as they go. When did this become acceptable. And the show has been terrible with servers at launch for at least the past 3 releases. I get that madden and 2k are greedy blood sucking companies as well. But being better than them doesn’t take much. Clearly the show is better with compensation. I’ll take the free stuff obviously. If the servers stay consistent then that’s really all I want going forward.
I don't think you realize the mountain they had to climb to make this game in a pandemic-ridden world, a new generation of consoles to create a game for, and doubling it's player base because of their expansion to Xbox. Would you have liked for this game to come out in May, when the actual mlb season has already been going for weeks? Because they would've had to in order to meet your demands. Also, I totally disagree with the fact of the servers always being bad on launch for previous games. I've had minimal to no server problems in the other show releases except for 17, which was horrendous.
The servers have been the [censored] of jokes for years on this game. If you’ve experienced less issues at launch in prior years I feel you maybe an outlier. A company that makes tons of money off a sports title I don’t feel the slightest sympathy towards their issues in producing a game. They can choose to spend money on development and severs, but they don’t. Pandemic aside not the first time they’ve had major issues.
I don't remember many people having server issues to begin last years game. If you have a problem with them not giving "enough" free stuff to make right their wrongs, don't buy the game. You said that you've been playing since 17 I think and if you don't think they haven't spend money/ time developing the game and making the gameplay better, then idk what to tell you. They've obviously are making the servers better aren't they? People nowadays have the expectation for everything to be perfect, and that no flaws should occur, and for the most part companies try to cater that to people. But in reality there are so many flaws in the world, nothing is perfect and you shouldn't have to hold flawed humans (because everyone has their problems) to perfection.
Where did I say I want free stuff? Listen cupcake. I have demands and I expressed my opinion. I’m not asking for perfection I’m asking for a product I can enjoy that I paid for. Don’t be that guy that gives out the PSA “of don’t buy the game?” Read my previous post in the thread. Never said anything about not liking or enjoying the game. This one aspect of it is extremely frustrating though.
Sure kiddo, you demand and you shall not receive with that pouty little attitude. I never said anything about whether or not you liked the game. Someone's gotta read more carefully. ReAd mY PrEvIoUs PoSt iN tHe ThReAd. I can say whatever I want about whether or not you should buy the game, you evidently complain about it a fair amount, and why spend your money or your time on something that gets you in this pissy attitude... Not sure why you enjoy doing that but okay.

I’m pissy? Kiddo? Alright boss. I can state my opinion as I did. Dissatisfaction has been expressed. If you’re happy with it then fine. Good for you man.

It was nice, but it would have been better if they weren't in the position to need to compensate people for their time in the first place.

Guess it was only 10 affinity vouchers...my screen showed 10 vouchers but each voucher had the 10x on it...thought they just gave us 100 vouchers, but I am happy with what they did give...

Sure if you consider 20 dollars of content an acceptable make right for not being able to properly play a game most of us paid $100 for for 10 days without the servers crashing. To be fair we got better packs with the jackie robinson edition of the game than we did with the make right bundle, Not to mention the conquest maps being heavily nerfed this year with hidden packs last year conquest 1 gave us 12 standard packs and 2 ballin packs , conquest im near sure gave us a free legend preorder pack in it, So only way to finish jackie right now is to buy the 42's off the market theres no way to earn them from grinding the game (apart from the one they gave us in the free bundle) , It also feels like the pack odds are heavily nerfed from early release as i packed 12 diamonds in one day including mookie, acuna and trout in the early release and tatis and 2x sotos with a bunch of headliner donaldsons etc, ive packed about 30 diamonds after early release and its always low diamonds or pitchers who dont have much value i havnt even seen the 90+ diamond animation in about 9 days (even for the cheap CJ abrams or donaldsons) , But they really make it up for it with all the grindable content the POTM program was awesome, and the inning programs have a ton of packs, But dont forget they removed the 5x 99s from the XP patch this year too. But with the 2nd inning being 95's which technically paralled will probally max out at 98s it seems like it'll be a more fun game this year , Thank god theres no free 99 klubers or 97 newhousers etc haha so if you want high overal pitchers you gotta pass on other cards , It'd be hard for me to take lee smith with the new legend Jason bay looking that good at hitting especially with paralells hes nearly all 100+ hitting stats etc

It was solid. Still a shame they nerfed their pack odds 2 days ago in preparation for it. But I do like the mix of everything.
that’s why I pulled Acuna from their bundle the?

While I agree that the bundle was a nice make right... I have to chime in and point out that the servers in Madden were not ever as bad as this was this year in The Show. Madden has had bad nights, but never has been unplayable for almost 2 weeks straight. I'm a regular yearly MUT player and can tell you that there is no comparison in the two servers at all. The MUT servers host 5x more players than the Show and I took more disconnect losses or games that didn't count during the first week of the Show than I've had in the last 3 years of Madden. Bottom line is The Show can be a great game if they get their servers in line with most other popular online games like MUT and FiFA.

I could point out that the servers were in fact playable during those two weeks. There were definitely moments where it was unplayable but to say that it was impossible to play DD for two weeks is a fib. I'm also a yearly MUT player and I remember for a fact that at the beginning of madden 19 it was impossible to do anything because the menus were so dam slow and that nearly every squads and seasons game I played ended with a DC. Obviously madden has a bigger player base, but they never have to deal with the player database more than doubling, they usually have about the same number of players every year, but the show just took on all the people on Xbox, while also making a game for a new generation of consoles. My point is, it's a lot easier to have good servers when you know the amount of players year in and year out as opposed to an exponential influx.

There's a HUGE difference between slow and unplayable. The player base grows in Madden every year... look up the numbers yourself and you will see. If you think the Show wasn't unplayable for the majority of the first 2 weeks then you play at a different time of day than I do because between 6-11pm 8 out of the first 10 nights it was definitely unplayable. I have played MUT since MUT started and NEVER couldn't play at all for multiple nights in a row. Not just MUT either... no online game I've played was unplayable like this was before they fixed it. If The Show had half the server capacity as Madden.... there would have been zero issue this year.

I just wish they made the 42 series sellable especially if you already had completed the Jackie collection. I honestly don't care about the stubs that much but with a limited supply available I wish I could've sold the card instead of quick selling it for 5k.

When it takes 5 minutes for the menus to load, the game is basically unplayable. And I also said right afterwards that I was DC from nearly every game so unplayable.... I never said that the Madden player base doesn't grow. I said they don't have to deal with a doubling population, which are both correct statements. Now you're changing what you said. First it was unplayable for two weeks. Now it's playable 2 out of the 10 days for you. That sucks dude I was able to play a game every night since the game that has been out. I'm sincerely glad they addressed the problem. I'm not saying I didn't have a share of server issues, I'm just saying that they were in fact playable, and it wasn't as if they game wasn't out for two weeks. Also, you can't give me a time without a time zone. For all I know you could be in Australia. Okay Congrats? I could careless how long you've played madden. I'm not sure how you were able to survive the beginning of madden 19 when my friends and I couldn't get through one squads game without 2 or more people being DC. Evidently, you didn't read my last sentence, hopefully you read it this time. Madden knows about how many players to expect each year. Their player base increases, but not at the exponential pace that MLB the Show did this year because of the expansion to Xbox. Madden servers can deal with all of the players because they've been doing it for years. Their servers have already been proven to hold all their players. My point is that it is a lot harder to build something up, than to have excess, and MLB had to build up their servers because of the exponential increase of players. Next time I urge you to read my paragraph in full before you respond. You missed three key points/ arguments.
