New player. Can someone explain how perks work??

I know in RTTS you can apply perks and items to your player. But in diamond dynasty how do they work?? Do I have to do anything after I unlock something like a bat or a glove???

Nope the perks are generally active on the players they are on. Like outlier will give you added velocity

It's the same system. The 'unlock' part is to get the perks/archetype past bronze. Equipment slots are all unlocked but require you to have whatever equipment you want to use, which you can get in packs, reward paths, or on the market.

Equipment attributes are only for cap.

bronze 2 perks, gold 3 perks, diamond 4 perks, and you have to equip his equipment on the loadout screen.

There are cosmetic things you can equip to your whole team, yes, but they do not affect stats.
The stuff you equip to your ball player do affect his stats though. You have one slot for each equip piece and there are a ton of equip slots. Socks, bat, sunglasses, batting gloves, fielding glove, shin guard, catcher stuff, etc.Note: all of this equipment stuff is different than the archetype and the slots associated to that 'build'. I think you start off with one archetype and 2 perk slots. It goes up (another perk slot or two) at some point from what I've seen, but I havent gotten there yet.
