First time trying BR- why are the pitches so slow?

I just got interested in this mode and tried it out on 20.
Why when you pitch the ball it's so slow coming into the Kzone?
When hitting it seems like regular speed.

It looks slower on your end, but to your opponent, it's coming in at the same speed pitches are coming to you

When hitting it seems like regular speed.
I think it’s by design to ensure that the hitting player doesn’t get lag or rubberbanding when they need to swing. If that’s the case it’s a good compromise.
