Can the devs explain something

So mlb 19 ended and you guys obvious were aware that the vast majority of the community was unhappy with the gameplay. You guys decided to “make skill matter” and implemented perfect perfect. Etc. (the pitching still forced meatballs down the middle. But that’s another discussion)
At what point did you guys abandon that motto and revert back to the way 19 played and why? This is not a question of “why would you do that”
More so...what was the thinking behind it? Meaning your team decided that was what YOU wanted regardless of the communities wishes...and what you sold a lot of people on.
Have a good day.

I'm just peeved that they're leaving 20 in the broken state that it is, with no future patches to fix what they did. Somewhere along the line they released a "patch" that broke the fielding and things like that—players are glitching out when they dive for a ball that they would've otherwise caught, etc.
They won't fix it and it ticks me off. Guess they're gonna let that dumpster fire burn? ¯_(ツ)_/¯

It's all about the $$$$. The $$$$ dictates the deadlines and at some point they gotta slap a band-aid and move on to next year's production; rinse & repeat. The only hope as a MLBTS player is that a year finally comes around where the programming team lucks out w/ resources and efficiency and the game is a hit from start to finish. That very seldom, if at all; ever happens with sport game franchises. It's 2021 and MVP 05 is still mentioned as one of the GOAT MLB video games ever made. That's 16 years since a baseball game has gotten universal praise of that magnitude.

This game was once very competitive and good. There was a time where I never felt like I was losing games I should win and winning games I should lose.
I feel like people take that complaint and automatically think “you need to get better”. But I’ve seen it help me. I’m not bias to my losses.
I want the game to preform well weather I win or lose. I want that heart pumping grind of skill being the pinnacle of the game...and somewhere a long the line they completely lost sight of that
Somewhere between Diamond dynasty and exclusive packs.

I want the same too. But this game hasn't been competitive in years. The franchise can't make this game skill based enough & it can't even host a reputable/cohesive money pot tournament let alone ESL without big issues. This game is so far behind actually being competitive it hurts. The closest it gets to that is playing legend in RS and even then we're still subject to garbage gameplay flaws. Also, the game isn't even fun playing at that level because of the flaws...so in the end what's the point?
I want the game to perform better for sure, not sure we'll see it in 21, I'm personally writing it off. I think it's more realistic they deliver in 22 for many reasons.

Everyone knows not to buy any packs off the market anymore...I think! They watch guys like Koogs45 get Trout on their first attempt with their pack reveals....I ain't fallin for that garbage. They gave him that pack to promote the game obviously. Yeah, I've bought packs and have learned my lesson throughout the season, but some have not and they will continue to buy stubs with the hopes of unlocking the most valuable cards in the beginning. Yeah, that's not how it works, just because it happened for the biggest Angels fan out there. Watch and learn peeps.

They need to do better. Come in with a 99 closer when up 2-0. Get to 2 outs. Walk with pitches no where near pci, throwing error, walk with pitches nowhere near pci, grand slam with pitch nowhere near pci. Game over loss

But oh there’s more....
The game imo is scripted. I’ve gotten personal hate mail in my inbox from people who work at SDS for even suggesting this in the past.
But it’s true. The game has decisive outcomes.
If they completely removed that — this game would improve tremendously.
But they won’t. Know why? Because a lot of people would suck. The skill gap would widen and they might even lose a little revenue.
But who cares? In the end they will win because the core fan base would grow. If this game played correctly id prob easily drop 1000 a year. But it plays like junk.

Can you explain walk with pitches nowhere near the PCI? A walk would mean no swing.

I think he means that you get a walk when you are hitting your spots. Which does happen

Like you aim your PCI middle in with "good" tight green circle and and it misses low
