Keep or sell Verlander?
-
Preface: I usually only just squeak into Division Series so most of my games are on all-star, which means I'm aware it likely doesn't matter.
Currently I run a rotation of Sale, prestige deGrom, MadBum, Scherzer, prestige Kershaw with Kluber, Gibson and Seaver thrown in once in awhile.
As with everyone stubs are irrelevant. I have (or have orders for) all the max cards I want. Logic says just keep him because who cares. But I've heard he's absolutely awful.
Thoughts?

Will you replace any of your top 5 with him or will he fall into the 'off day' scenario where you pitch him once in awhile?

Yeah he is awful, so if you need the stubs you should sell him without hesitation. If you don't need stubs, just keep him for fun. If you don't care about winning, use him.

I'm honesty not sure I'd ever use him. Maybe for a daily challenge of Tiger innings, but Hal can cover that. Normally I'd sell but I'm already sitting on 2.3 million with nothing to buy, another 800k seems pointless.

Try him out for a few starts & then decide man. Sometimes certain players work for you that don’t usually work for the majority. Example - Cliff Lee is in my end game rotation. Try Verlander & see how it goes.

He’s awful but I never sold mine as there really isn’t a point unless you need stubs for some reason. It’s shame they have his card coded they way they do as you just have no idea where it’s going to go and it shouldn’t be like that....

I'm a AS RS player. I got Verlander during the second leg of the event. Rolled him out in RS and immediately regretted it. He's not worth using at AS difficulty when there are better options available.
Unfortunately, you're probably like me and flush with stubs as well. If you want another 800k, I suggest selling. Otherwise, just keep him as a trophy.

Yup and just to add on to that, he's BP in every other difficulty too. Just bad. Unfortunately, he's a trophy for me too for the same reasons you've stated.
