First baseman defense

I don’t know for you guy but I love having a gold defender at first base. That’s why I love Eddie Murray so much : switch hitter capable of playing crazy good defense. The number of runs he saved for me is insane. I’m telling you people don’t underestimate good defense at first base. At the moment Votto is my starting first baseman but I cannot wait for that 99 Eddie Murray card.

I would agree. I think first is a position were you can get by with average or bad defense a lot more than you can at other positions but if you have good D over there it does make a difference. I've been using Babe at first and his defense has not been bad for me at all. I wouldn't say he's great, although I'm actually surprised how good he's been. He seems to make all the routine plays and some really good ones on top of that.

I am definitely underestimating defence at first. The only thing I've noticed is there periodic line drive that goes through them that you think they should catch. Though saying that, someone like Frank Thomas and Papi just absorb them. I think you should definitely take the better bat if you can find one. First base is one of the most fun positions, because there are so many different options on people's teams.

I mostly use Musial there, but occasionally have babe or another big bat depending on matchups

Whenever I face Babe he always plays like a gold glover for some reason.
