I can't beat my opponent AND the RNG!!!

I was doing a Showdown and got all the bases done, except 1, with all 9 outs left.
I then made 9 straight outs on good/perfect contact.
We all get it lol.

Just sat down and played two RS games on arcade mode (I mean all star difficulty). The first game my opponent and me both had 13 hits and the second game we both had 14. The only difference? Out of those 27 hits, I had 3 HRs and my opponents had 13. In a game that's LITERALLY decided by who the RNG arbitrarily gives HRs to, how am I supposed to compete with those numbers?
In the second game, he tied it up on a CHECK SWING GROUND BALL single followed by an early swing HR. I honestly don't know how anybody takes this game seriously.
I'm a WS level player for the last 5 years in this game. I've beaten some of the top players (not regularly but it's happened). And this ranked season I'm 12-11 and literally can't get out of AS difficulty.
But your opponent can beat you AND the RNG?
You don't have to "beat" the RNG if it's on your side. The whole point of the post is that if the RNG is completely against you it's like you have to beat that AND your opponent
Nice try though...

Hah remember when they said in a live stream that 80+ power on a P/P flyball was a guaranteed home run? Now you can’t even guarantee one with 125 power

And how do you make sure that never happens?
Games like this need RNG, so even if it is toned down (which it does need to be), there will always be times that RNG will favor your opponent, it will never go away even if this game was way more skill based.

And that's fine! The argument had NEVER been that RNG needs to completely go away. The argument is that it shouldn't play nearly as large a role as it plays now. With HRs being hit the way they are, the outcome of 9 out of 10 games comes down to who gets arbitrarily rewarded with the most HRs.
There are a ton of things they could do to ensure that skill played a larger part but for whatever reason they just don't do it.

While I agree with the premise, the 9 out of 10 times is a LARGE exaggeration. It's probably closer to half of games (which is still to many) when two evenly matched players play.
The rate is much less then half when it comes to the goons who can consistently hit perfect after perfect

I would argue it's somewhere between 50% and 90% when players are even remotely evenly matched and that's due to the massive amount of HRs. When you have a game where around 80% of runs are scored via HRs, the player who hits the most HRs is probably going to win. So the question becomes what determines a HR? And I've played this game enough to see how HUGE an impact the arbitrary hitting engine (i.e. RNG) has on that. It's insane to see the swings that are and aren't HRs and how random it really is.

I didnt realize randomness applied to only one player.

It’s in the name, by definition it can’t favour either player. If it does, it’s no longer random, it becomes self-aware logic.

It’s nice to see so many threads that validate my opinion of where gameplay is at this year. I had started to feel like I was the only one complaining about the state of the game, aside from widespread agreement about the terrible pitching and random hangers on good input, up until a month or two ago, not many people were complaining about the fact that early swings were OP and every game was a home run derby. Now pretty much everyone is saying the same thing. Is anyone at SDS listening?
