I'm trying to get out of AS hell and I don't know what the [censored] I'm supposed to do. It's not even that input is secondary to RNG - I don't think that's even debatable at this point. It's that the game ACTIVELY rewards bad input more than they do good.

How am I supposed to win when I'm hitting line drives that are all outs but my opponent loads the bases on three ground balls and then gets rewarded with a bases clearing double on a late swing!? So "good" swing timing can't be rewarded but let's break the game open with a late swing that IS rewarded!?

Why do we play this game!?

I’ve been stuck around all star all year and it’s been the worst year of diamond dynasty since ‘18. Only the fact we have content has made it a more enjoyable year than ‘18. Gameplay has been truly horrific in my opinion, but in years gone by, I mostly played HOF. That hasn’t been possible this year and I really think the game plays like garbage. I would never, ever elect to play on all star difficulty by choice, but it’s enforced by SDS across competitive modes for some reason.

Just had the same thing happen to me. I’m on an 0-3 start to RS and I’m a CS player. Started at 550 and I’m now down to 428. Makes it tough to play multiple ranked games a day if they’re all like my last game where I lost 6-0 on 5 homers, 4 of them early on outside pitches. I get good input a majority of the time or just a tad late. No reason a late but green swing with trout should be a lazy fly to medium center with good, not perfect, pci placement.

How are you not able to score 1 run on AS? Especially if you’re a regular CS player.

    Because I’m wildly inconsistent.

I started out the season 6-0 (now 6-2, lol), but even when I’m winning, the game isn’t all that fun. I used to play a lot of games back to back, but now I need a break after each game, win or lose, because I find the gameplay to be quite tiresome. I don’t know if the increase in pitch speeds and differentials means I actually find it tiring, having had to focus in for nine innings and try to react, or if it’s the repetitive nature of the game itself.

I used to tell people I only played RS because every game is different against a human opponent. Every game is different, anything can happen from one inning to the next, which keeps it fresh and interesting as opposed to endless grinding against CPU controlled teams. This year, you know [censored] well what’s going to happen. It’s an endless cycle of hanging off speed on good input, early swing home runs, elite third basemen whiffing on ground balls and hard hit doubles down the line that just stay fair. Something is lacking, somehow.

I’m with you man. Although the crazy stuff does go both ways. I won a game the other day when my opponent had the bases loaded and two outs in the 9th and he smoked a grounder that hit the 3rd base bag and went straight back to my catcher who got the force out and ended the game.
