Player morale Idk sorry. As for stubs no, that's for Diamond dynasty or for buying equipment in road to the show.

I think you can buy cap space with stubs. I know that was a thing in previous games, not sure if it is this year. As for morale, there's no way to just edit their morale to be higher. The factors that go into morale are: team role, contract, coaching, region, team performance, individual performance, and injury. You can view their Expectations and current status for each of those categories under the morale tab when viewing their player card (when you press triangle on the player). Each of those categories are pretty self-explanatory except for team role. You can assign a player's team role when negotiating a contract. Team roles have no effect other than player morale.
If a player expects to be in a star role, but you assign them a platoon role, they won't actually be locked into a platoon role in your lineup, but it will tank their morale.

Hi all,
I know most of you are hard core players but I’m not. I only play the game for the franchise feature (thus I usually by the game 1 year behind) and only a few hours a week. I have a couple of questions.
Player Morale. I have players with multi-year contracts that aren’t happy with their contract or player role. Is there a way to adjust their status to make them happy?
Stubs. Are stubs of any value to gameplay in Franchise mode? I’ve been playing since the 2017 version and I don’t see a way to redeem them for anything that will help my ball club. I’ve also noticed that they don’t transfer when I pick up the game with the next version.
Thank you.
Like @icdavis882 said, you can use stubs for Cap Space and bank, but you need to do some DD or buy them to get them.
My question for @icdavis882: If I want to start somebody, but not be a star, can I still put them as a star to help their morale? -
Thank you very much!
I did find where I could increase my bank balance for my budget using stubs. I hope my budget carries over for next year.
Now I wish I hadn’t signed my players to 5 year deals so I could keep them happy (since their happiness contributes to their abilities).
I remembered a couple other questions. (These questions are for ‘19 & ‘20. I finished my ‘19 season this week and I’m waiting for the price to drop to buy ‘20).
Is there a way to do bulk substitutions instead of one at a time? (Like replace all three outfielders at once).
Is there a way to make a double switch? The CPU was able to do it once but I haven’t found an option for that.
I wish I could make my subs between innings instead of having to wait until a batter steps up to the plate.

I earn stubs during the season playing Franchise mode. Today I went through and sold all my cards that I’ve earned and then used the stubs to increase my bank balance.
Thank you!

Can’t you buy the sponsorship stuff as well?

You can. I just went in and found it. Thanks. I have been relying on cards from packs to get those. Now I know I can buy them too.

Their morale is only affected when their assigned role is less than what they expect it to be. So, I guess you could give every single player the "star" role and their team role will never have a negative effect on their morale. Unless I misunderstood something.

I believe your budget transfers to the next copy of the game, but only in that specific save file. I think you can load saves from the previous year's game.
No, there is no way to do bulk substitutions. That's a small feature that I've never though of, but would be pretty useful.
You can make double switches. The double switch is when you bring in a pinch hitter for a pitcher and want to put the pinch hitter in the field when you bring in a relief pitcher. So, after the half inning ends in which you have pinch hit for your pitcher, the game asks you to bring in a pitcher for your position player. When you select a pitcher from the bullpen, one of the options that come up should be double switch. After you click that, it will take you to the substitutions screen and ask you to select a position for the pinch hitter to play.
You can make subs between innings! Pause the game, go to manager, go to substitutions. Or, press up on the d-pad and select substitutions from there.

I get a locked menu in between innings when I try that. I have to wait until the batter steps up to the plate to make subs. I’ll try again, maybe I’ve been doing it wrong.
Thank you!
