Is hitting busted ?

I've noticed a lot of my hits that are near perfect placement and timing are resulting in fly outs more often than not which us causing me to want to play less
Is it just me or is anyone else noticing the same thing? -

Is it just me or is anyone else noticing the same thing?I had this happen three times yesterday, where I squared up the ball, should have been a HR, but they somehow caught it. Good timing, EXACT middle of the PCI, and I fly out. THREE TIMES.
Like you said, it gets frustrating. -
same here, happened four times and was getting very frustrated went into the 6th and got a perfect that I put out of the yard but man does it wear on you when you are centering the pci with almost perfect timing and getting shallow flyballs and you see your oppenent get a very late double down the line...
-
Are you guys getting "Good' feed back on those swings or was it perfect/perfect? Hitting seems to have changed drastically in the past couple of days. I get "Good" timing feedback on almost everything, including swings and misses. Either too late or early I guess, but I haven't seen nearly as many perfect/perfect hits or even outs. It is extremely frustrating.
-
I have hit perfect/perfect balls thrown in the heart of the zone that have been pulled for foul balls. It’s happened in moments, cpu, and h2h. I will not trust the feedback as end all be all and more of a rough estimate after witnessing that more than once.
It’s obvious the pci feedback is not accurate and I think causes a lot of frustration because your told you did everything right yet the outcome is bad. That’s also why we have all hit no doubt bombs when the feedback shows you completely missed the ball. Don’t trust the feedback.

Probably wasn’t your turn to win. The only way I can interpret what I see is that the game arbitrarily decides who will win regardless of inputs. I’m sure it’s absolutely nothing to with who gets the bat on the ball better. Here’s an example, I just played a game where my opponent and I both got two perfect/perfect contacts during the course of a nine inning game. I was using 99 Seaver, he used 99 Guidry. His were both home runs, mine were both fly outs. I lost 3-2.

Now, in that instance, how is that rewarding the player who had the better input? The game determined the outcome by giving me nothing for my perfect swings 100% of the time and rewarding my opponent to the best possible outcome 100% of the time. Small sample yes, but this is a recurring theme for me. You can hardly call that a skill gap. I don’t care about winning or losing personally, but the point remains that you can’t play this game competitively in its current state. User input has a very limited effect on results in this game, it’s like watching a baseball game simulation and having the illusion of controlling the outcome, or being in one of those simulator rides at a theme park, where it feels like you’re on the rollercoaster, but you’re sitting safely in a moving seat watching the action on a screen. If they do a good enough job, you feel like you’re really there. Just like in this game, sometimes you feel like you’re actually controlling your players and influencing outcomes, even though you’re really not.

Ok, so I see a lot of people complaining here about Good swings and Good timing feedback being outs and not home runs. This happened to me a lot too, until I realized that I was hitting the ball on the later side of good, rather than the earlier side of Good. The earlier side will most likely result in better contact, rather than being late on a ball and it being better contact.

That's depressing, but kind of makes sense.

Hitting has been broken since the 4th day of early release. Right after the first patch. Timing window got itty bitty.

SDS is so [censored]. They clearly nerf / mess with hitting. WHY DO THEY DO THIS?
Fix hitting SDS. Or we'll boycott lol

Glad to see I'm not the only one hitting only seems to get worse as the year Carries on its depressing and has made me not want to play cause I'm sitting here yelling profanity at my tv for what I feel should've been hit more often than not

My hand is swollen and my neighbors learned lots of new words....lol. I don't want to break the controller, so I hit the floor instead. I just cannot time the fastball on-line. Funny how it seems that legend against the CPU is 10 times easier than All-Star on Ranked.

I see this too to an extent, but what pitchers are you facing on offline legendary? As i said, I was thinking the same but realized i was usually marching myself up in conquest and cpu games against their 4/5 starter. If you build a god squad and save it to practice against in legendary practice, and pitch the guys with outliers like Nolan Ryan, Dibble, Wagner, Johnson, etc., it’s much closer to what you see online ( to an extent. We all have those games where the servers turn the pitch speed up about 20 mph and you instantly know how the game will unfold).

I've beaten some tough pitchers, but I can time it so much easier because there isn't any lag due to internet service providers, whether or not you are the host. I think that has a lot to do with it...that and I really think PS4 Pro owners have an advantage because they are getting more frames per second (60 on the Pro, 30 on the original PS4). I'm probably wrong, but it does make sense.

Screw that. I’d rather they worked on pitching.

Interesting...baseball has changed. In all my long years of playing ball...I never heard my hitting coach..manager...private hitting instructor say that I was early on the pitch...but good early and not bad early...is good early better that good late?

Apparently in this game Good early is better than Good late. I also have heard a hitting instructor that being behind the ball is much better than bein gout in front. MLB the show physics are just dumb
