    I mean, that's the way real life baseball is going, how many teams have multiple guys out of the pen firing 100+? Also the game has become an exercise of guessing when that pitch will come? Gasp that sounds a lot like real life!, but no that's Rays hitter probably didn't guess fastball on that home run off Chapman, because i guess that's not how real baseball works

    Fastballs being usable are the main reason there are actually strikeouts in the game now, 2018 and 2019 were awful in that strikeouts were non-existent. At least now I can maintain a K/9 above 9. And no i don't spam fastballs because that strategy doesnt work, most people sit fastball, so I will hit them with offspeed all day.

    I have no problem guessing for high inside fastball and I have hit many a HR that way... but I just realized how I basically have to spend the entire game sitting on that pitch ... which again might be how baseball works, but are you going to argue and say it is realistic no one gets tagged on the elbow... Rizzo makes a living sticking his elbow over the plate and getting the HBP. Can't do that in this game. There is no price paid for pitching high and inside and too many guys can throw 102 so unless they are going to be kept honest with the occasional HBP this game is now just a guessing game on high and inside fastballs and then adjusting to off speed when he sees you are looking for the high inside gas. You all know that is how this is playing out, some of us are better than others at playing cat and mouse, but this would be much improved if you had to think twice about throwing high and inside that is my point.

    It would not be improved, it would not bring people back. It would just frustrate the hell out of people. "I got a good release on a fastball up and on the corner and it hit him instead". Your proposal is not a solution, it would just cause more anger. Guess what, thats how real baseball works against fireballers. Guess fastball and adjust offspeed, you are literally talking about how baseball actually works. If a person can constantly get good releases on high fastballs, they should not be punished

    Then it is far too easy to get your perfect release.. I am sorry it is not that easy to pinpoint a fastball on the corner.

    And I laugh at the notion that you seem to understand why people don't enjoy playing this game and give up. How would you understand how someone else perceives the game that can't handle the fastball as well as you do. Your arrogant which is what I would expect from a Cardinals fan.

    And you're the common example of projecting your feelings on the community as a whole, I bet you have very few, if any real examples of people quitting over this aspect.

    The solution to this issue is already implemented into the game;

    It's incredibly hard to dot an up and in fastball on the black for a strike. It's nearly impossible to do it twice in a row and I've never seen someone do it 3 consecutive times in this game.

    That means the pitch will more times than not end up being a ball, which you should take and will result in walks (involves pitch recognition = user skill), OR, the pitcher will miss the location and that often time will result in a pitch down the middle. And when that happens, there's no excuse not to hit it out of the park.

    Well........not all MLB clubs have been guessing which pitch is coming.

    See I am gonna go ahead and admit ignorance on that topic... I use the pulse pitching method quite effectively for my purposes... and you are right I cannot dot the corner 2 out of 3 times probably not even 1 every 3... but yes you admit many go awry so why is no one plunked on the elbow ever?

    I would also like to go back to the days with more umpire flexibility.. I don't want to see bad calls, but when a ball is hanging off the edge on the corner that should be a ball.

    i am pretty sure someone hit me on the upper inside corner 3 times in a row a few games back and that is what triggered me.
    I mean god [censored] who needs this? They don't pay me enough to tolerate this kind of nonsense.
