Jack the Ripper was awesome. The only legit power hitter on those mid-eighties Cards teams.
Too bad injuries robbed him, especially in 87. If the Cards had him (they were decimated by injuries), they would have beat that dreadful Twins team.That Twins team was one of the 3 worst World Series winners that I have ever seen. The other two were the 88 Dodgers (Orel & the Miracles) and the 2006 Cardinals (83-78 record).
