I’m strictly offline, although I keep telling myself that I’m going to venture into the online world one day, and I’ve accumulated at least 25-30 cards that can be locked into the Prestige sets: 1K stubbs apiece, 25-30k total, just for locking in. Aside from the cards that I can sell, is there any downside to locking them in? Thanks

Other than making locked in cards unsellable, there are no downsides. But if you don't plan on playing online, and thus not prestiging those cards, that's a pretty significant downside. 30K or the sell value of 30 cards.. that'll be a whole lot more than a measly 30K.

The FOTF cards actually give you 2K each. 1K for locking them in, and the 10pts towards prestiging them is also 1K

Ok so I have 27/30 cards that are “No Sell” that I can drop in the Prestige collection. That’s 27k just for locking them even though they are no sells.

There is no reason to lock them until you’ve accumulated all the stats.

I also don’t understand why anyone would play DD if they never play online.

There's a lot of us. Trust me. I get a lot out of playing only the A.I.
I get nothing out of playing a human. Mainly because when i started gaming, there was no online, until Sega's NFL 2K came along.

Amen to this. Online is for suckers. When 95% of a game's issues are attributed to how it plays online, I'm not about to put myself through that.

Why not play franchise or RTTS? DD is an online mode. SMH.

Maybe because they want to. You want to play online, you do you. They enjoy playing a different way, maybe enjoy the card collecting aspect and playing with those cards. Nothing wrong with that. Different strokes for different folks. On the flip side, no reason for you to "SYH" at them for it.

You should never lock in a card unless its end game or finishes a collection like trout!! That is insane! Can u justify it not even being a bench player? U could sell that card for min 15k to 150k or more . Thats crazy

I do actually but enjoy DD more. And at last check Moments, Showdown, and Conquest were all offline modes and key to getting some of the better cards in the game. Overall I think SDS does an almost decent job of trying to balance online rewards and offline rewards but no card should ever be exclusive to online accomplishments. I think they're onto something with prestiging a player and THAT should be the reward for playing online. Give everyone equal access to every card whether they want to earn it online or off.

Ok, 2 things... and maybe I’m missing something but here it goes. I enjoy playing strictly offline and really don’t care about anyone “smh”. I’m in it for MY enjoyment, not anyone else’s. I like blue, someone else likes green. So you’re going to “smh” at MY choice. That in itself is absurd. In any case, ever since I was a kid I was a collector: baseball, basketball, hockey and even racing car cards. That’s what I like about DD: collections and mixing older players with new. That’s why I asked the question. I was concerned that if I locked in a “no sell” card, and SDS came out with another collection, could I re-use that card for m that collection? Tbh, I kind of know the answer to that, but I wanted to be sure as it would be an easy 27k to drop them in the collection even if I didn’t play an online game.

No point in locking in if you are not playing online. Unless they are non sellable. If they are non sellable do it

Same here. I try to avoid online if possible. However, most programs can be achieved faster or require online. Something they should change in future editions.

Ok so I locked in 28 out of 30 prestige cards. The other 2, Catfish and Hershiser are sellable so I did not lock them in. I miscalculated and thought it would net me about 27k. It was more like 53k.
