State of Play

What’s funny is how poor this gameplay is. Not only that but there’s been zero patches. The game must be perfect? No bugs? No glitches? Horse sht. Look SDS you drown us with content and that’s cool. You all are great at marketing. But you are terrible at developing video games. Before the game was released you all went on twitch and stressed how important this year was on creating the best online gameplay possible. But it’s never been so poor. Zone hitting is nothing but wet noodles. Directional hitting you hold the analog stick down, time the pitch, press x and its a dinger. You reward players that have 0 skill. Figure it out. This game is fraud. Nothing but a platform to cash grab. You all are criminals for providing such a poor product to loyal customers. Get bent.

Huh? Down is a ground ball....wow hitting is really screwed up

They are criminals for making a game you frequently spend your downtime playing lol. If anything you owe these dudes a beer for the hours you’ve put into this game getting away from whatever it is you normally have to deal with in real life.

Down isnt a groundball. I used to think so. But it’s the way you want the ball to spin. So down is back spin.

If you say so

Sounds like someone can't use zone hitting tbh

Nope.
I use directional, and have exclusively for well over a hundred games in RS. I wish it were that easy, but sounds more like you're salty because you aren't hitting well. Maybe assigning imaginary success to others who are "less skilled" than you makes you feel better, but you pretty clearly don't know what you're saying, here.
Pushing down is driving at the ball; more like a level or slightly downward swing aiming for the top half of the ball. Pushing up angles your swing to hit the lower half, so more of a scoop swing. Those are affected differently by combining with a pull or push (right or left), and all are affected by where the pitch is.
You're correct that directional hitters aren't flexing their reticicle-aiming skills, but some people think that sort of thing is better left to the FPS genre. To each their own. And while many lament the RNG that the game incorporates, some of us embrace it, because baseball is all about random events... in that sense, directional is a bit like gambling (not an original thought - came across that description in a nice guide by somebody named TheWarmWind), and you play the odds through pitch selection, influence, and timing, while also taking your individual hitter's attributes into account. It's a different skill, and a method I'd argue is much less rewarded by the game as I think you'll find that directional hitters' averages tend to plateau at a lower level (the "gambling" aspect tends to produce results commensurate with numbers you'd find in the real game).
There are plenty of issues in the game, but you aren't having trouble because so many of you're opponents are just holding down and pressing X (analog inputs are much more fun, by the way). You need to look inward...
