DD leagues/market value

So every year there is a progression of cards and their worth. I think leagues with DD will help the market value of cards. For example. A random 85 diamond card that loses its value as the higher cards become available now holds value in leagues will overall team caps. I think the DD Leagues are a great addition to the game. I think the tournament possibilities and overall competitive possibilities of the game are going to be endless. The market is also going to be booming with cards of all levels.

You make a good point, but I suspect it will just even things out. For example when they would do an event where the cap was 85, you could make a killing on the market with everyone trying to put together a team. Now people in custom leagues will already have the 85's, so will not need to hit the market to buy a team for the event.

Interesting point, but maybe some things to consider

Will the use of leagues be as popular with a lot of the players that drive the market? For those people that can’t commit to playing every day, they might only play rs or br or conquest. So, they’ll sell their backup diamonds to upgrade.
-
What will the initial market look like? Last year we had 30 initial diamonds pretty much available on day one for anybody.
I’m not saying you’re wrong. I’m just hoping the ls cards are as affordable as they were last year. In 2018 the prices were so high, I felt I had no chance to get vlad. Last year, I was able to get Mays before April was over.
Tell me why I’m wrong. This is a cool topic.

great topic indeed
imo SDS did everything right this year - collecting stubs never felt like a chore and like you said we got honus and all the trimmings if you played enough - hopefully they keep up the good headspace carrying into 2020

Yea Vlad was HARD to get prices stayed high all year I think that has to do with the fact that there were so many different varieties of 99 cards at every position in 19. In 18 there were no sig series. The content was vast but there wasn’t a large variety of 99 diamonds they were scarce. In 20 the content will be even more then 19 but now think about it...that 85 diamond catcher you replaced with piazza or pudge you might not be able to start him in certain leagues. It drives up the demand for lower diamonds to fit in your roster.

Do you win something (content in dd) for playing in leagues ? If it's not the case, i dont think it will the most played mode. There will be curiosity at the start of the game but at the end of march/april, majority will spend their time on RS, events and programs

There is a whole group of ppl that are dedicated to league play. They set up chats on GroupMe it’s a huge following. I think it’s going to be bigger then you think.
