Kenley Jansen NEEDS to be a diamond again
-
Last year was an aberration, a clear product of the balls being especially "juicy" league-wide. So far through the first 1/3rd of the season, Kenley has shown he's still an elite closer and one of the best relievers in the game.
Honestly, I thought last year's downgrade was a bit too kneejerk for a guy who has been as reliable as Jansen. So with 2019 in the rearview mirror, it's time SDS gives back Kenley Jansen his diamond rating that he deserves.
Unless there's something I'm not seeing (I'm a White Sox fan who lives in Nevada so I get to watch the Dodgers a lot), the numbers speak for themselves:
IP: 9.1
Hits Allowed: 3
ERA: 0.96
WHIP: 0.64
Saves/Save Opportunities: 6 for 6
Strikeouts: 12
Walks: 3
Strike Percentage: .710 (71%)Almost all of his numbers are back to where they were when he was considered the best closer in baseball and aside from a single outing that he still managed to pick up the save in, he's been unhittable.
Give the man his diamond back!
[Edit] ...and for the record this has nothing to do with my own personal investments. I own 4 extra Kenley Jansen duplicates so this isn't "please reward my investment in a card because I bought 600 copies" thread.

I just really think he deserves it and I know SDS can be a bit stingy when it comes to relievers. Part of my outrage by his rating may also be that I miss using the Sig Series from last year and this might be as good as we're going to get this year without dropping 400K (he'll likely be a 12-0 Flawless reward I think).
I do however own a good stockpile of Nick Anderson and Starling Marte.
