Try to keep up........ In most circumstances, platooning in baseball is a righty and Lefty hitter. Of course there are other instances. Also, ortiz and ruth do not have reverse splits. Therefore it makes no sense. It almost seems like you heard the terminology of reverse splits but actually have no clue what it means. Ortiz nor ruth have reverse splits. Trout and musial do.
