So I am really bad
-
I stink at this game online. I've been no hit, I am a mess at controlling base runners, my best hitters are hitting like .240 online.
I usually pitch well against the competition the matchmaking matches me up with at least.
So, who should I take? I got to 300 for the 6th inning. Musial seems the obvious answer but I have Reggie, Ellsbury, and Laureano in the OF and 99 Ortiz at 1B. I love all those cards, especially the Laureano (he has by far the best stats on my squad). My SS is the 95 Correa who I stink with but his numbers are better than Rollins' so if I stink with him then yikes with the Rollins.
Any advice?
Thanks

240 batting average! I wish I could hit 240. I’ve heard it’s good to practice on legend.

If the bosses aren't an obvious choice I always sell them to put the stubs towards someone that I know will help my team, or save for someone that comes out later.

if you stink that bad its a REALLY BAD idea to practice on legend. first off i would practice on Vet or All Star and work your way up. you can also adjust the pitch speeds on the sliders menu to work your way to hitting faster pitches. and use a Monitor if you have one.

Rollins is a totally different type of player than Correa while being much better defensively. Rolling has a very quick swing Correas is more loopy to me. If you like Papi I wouldnt worry about Stan because he's a liability in the outfield and Papi has 1st for you.

@SwaptanatpawS What hitting interface are you using directional or zone? Also the hitting view can have a an effect. Strike zone is considered the best, using a monitor or tv can have a major effect as well. Also if this is your first year don’t stress too much just keep practicing, most people in the upper divisions have been playing for a few years.
For your boss take, Musial looks really good but you’d probably be better off selling your pick and buying multiple players to improve your lineup.

I can beat the computer on Hall of fame and beat all the inning showdowns and some of the TA ones. I cannot hit online at all. I am swing way too much.

I personally get too impatient online. I am not sitting there for walks.

The fastball on Allstar online is nowhere the same on Hall of fame vs computer and you know the computer will eventually throw you a strike.
It's the balls below the strike zone that kill me....people have been prestiging their SP with my hitting. -

Your avg. is better than mine. I have come to the realization that some online games are not working properly. The fastball can be so fast... its unhittable unless you completely commit to it and swing as soon as the ball is released. I know it's a broken game issue because in moments, showdown, and offline I can hit 100mph fastball with ease, but online half the time I can't hit a 95mph fastball without guessing. The game is broken... they say it's our TVs, but I have never had a lag or skipped frames issue in other online sports games, its only this one. It's really frustrating because this game could be a lot of fun if online play weren't such an inconsistent horror show most games. Moral of the story is if you know you can hit well in all modes other than online... your a victim of the glitchy 125mph fastball I keep seeing.

It's the balls below the strike zone that kill me....people have been prestiging their SP with my hitting.if it is below the zone that hurts you try a different view, I use Strike zone 2. I do not hit well, where I find success is knowing where people like to pitch certain hitters, For me I can not always time it up correctly but when I do it goes a far. I sit and wait for the pitch I am looking for unless I have 2 strikes.

My success from last night, had two walk off hr's in the event to win 1-0 in both games first one by Mantle and the other by POTM Bellinger and then in showdown skipped to final boss in a stage 2 AL down 0-15 won 16-15 with 2 outs to go never done that before. Showdown has help me be patient and sit on pitches middle and down especially with Left handed hitters. Still need improvement hitting with Righties.
