Well that was bitter sweet

Even seeing "AL Center Fielder" just means you have a fairly small chance at getting very lucky in a few short seconds. I think you got prematurely excited.
On the other hand, the "AL Starting | Pitcher | Live Series -------- Charlie Morton" is the real underrated nut-punch in the pack game.

Isn’t it the same odds tho? It would be 50/50 for both positions to get the good cards

No. They don't publicize their odds beyond a diamond player 1/50 packs.
But we can know for a few reasons that the Trout odds are way lower than Springer. For one, the prices of the players reflect how often they're pulled.
For two, I've opened 16,500 packs. Results are: 4 Trouts and a [censored]-ton of Springers.

Nah, it's either Springer or Trout once it says Live Series. But the Springer odds and Trout odds are not the same. We just have no actual info on the Trout odds compared to Springer.

Well, yeah. It's a casino after all.
They wanna pay you out small so you think you're winning. Therefore the play is to drive down the costs of LS diamonds so you feel like you're winning but then have this whole other tier of cards that are actually more rare and therefore more expensive.
They can't have you making more stubs on packs or no one would buy stubs.
Right now, they're just way worse than casinos at disguising the cut-off point, so we get all these LS diamonds that are super-valuable at an arbitrary cut-off point. And all these LS diamonds that are way easier to unpack than 2 years ago, but are now essentially double-gold cards.

Perfect explanation of how it actually feels

Just hit the square button, and be done with it. You're letting yourself get disappointed by not instantly revealing them, plus it's a time consuner.
This: As soon as you open the pack, the cards are decided. Going through the animation vs. quick flip doesn't change anything.
